Like a lighthouse in the dark, the modern decor and English language menu called to me from the sidewalk. What we discovered was a diner style set menu like an English Sausage and Egg Breakfast or a Chinese Chicken and Noodle meal, but wait, that's not all! Bubble waffles! Bubble milk tea! Hot or iced!
I totally did the tourist thing by ordering what there was a photo of on the menu, but what the menu failed to mention was that my teriyaki chicken udon would arrive sizzling HOT in its stone bowl! Woah! When the broth stopped boiling, I was happy to taste a very well-seasoned broth that had more character than a simple chicken broth. The husband went with Oily Chicken & Instant Noodles, which were flavorful, herbal, and rich despite the simple ingredients.
Service and food prep was fast, and the server had far more English language than I had Chinese. If you find yourself in the Tai Po Super Mall- check this out! read more
