The ladies were nice but they kept trying to upsell us to laser treatments. We are from the U.S. and we did not want to get laser treatments in a foreign country. Despite telling them this 3 times, they persisted with the upsell. Finally, we convinced them to stick with facials, which was about the same price, but that was already stressful. They took us into a room with 2 beds. Throughout the treatment, the technicians kept mentioning how bad our skin was. Uh, we get it. That's why we're here. My technician was a bit rough with products and then spent 2 minutes on extractions. Then, they slapped on a mask that felt like a cheap $2 Tony Moly mask and left us there for 20-minutes. For their extravagant prices, I expected more personal attention and better products. It felt like they were mad that we didn't go with lasers. Right after, my skin looked the same. The next day, I looked terrible. It was a sunken look that I hadn't had since college days. I looked like I hadn't slept in 48 hours, even though I got a full night of rest. I was really disappointed in the treatments. The facilities are clean and they offer good tea, but I won't be back.

This was a fantastic foot massage experience. Professional, welcoming, meditative, tranquil,…read morerelaxing, boutique spa feeling. It smelled absolutely lovely, there was a smiling welcoming face behind the registration desk when we stepped off the elevator into the calming, dimly lit lobby area ...all the touch points of a great spa experience. You pay for the experience of all these great customer service points (price was $360HKD, just feet, short a little tip....50 minutes), but if you are looking for just feet and not the "experience of tranquility," I am certain you could find it less expensive elsewhere. Wrapped up in the cost is an unspoken level of experience. Let it also be said that this is my first foot massage in Hong Kong and thus my bar of expectation has been raised. I have had countless reflexology treatments in the US, but it is just not the same to the real deal you can get in Hong Kong. My husband says that compared to this, I will be dissappointed with the esthetic, feeling and atmosphere of other massage spots in Hong Kong, but maybe not disspointed with the actual service. We did not have an appointment and had to wait for about ten minutes for both my husband and I to be taken on a Sunday afternoon. We were in a communal room with eight other chairs, although they do have private rooms for parties or just solo stuff I suppose. Rooms and chairs are tastefully decorated...wood, tile, cream colors, dim light, clean. They were completely full and room was busy, but still respectfully quite, tranquil and relaxing. After a short neck and upper back massage that is simply part of the routine to their foot massage experience, I found my esthetician to be brutal and beautiful. I suppose I prefer a foot massage that really digs in there and works things out versus fluffy rubbing. I am certain she would have taylored it back in the pressure had I asked, but it was great. She had good kneeding thumbs and fingers to really work on my feet and calves. She was good at her craft...it was clearly not her first rodeo! They have healthy drinks you can purchase and also have pedicure options. Another thing I noticed...everyone is in the company uniform, so you notice the corporate culture touch through the uniformity of look. I really enjoyed my experience at Ten Feet Tall and look forward to returning. You feel so good upon leaving, the question on tipping becomes a question in my American head (we tip the US...we just do...it is a custom...)...it was such a good experience, I just want to give them a tip. This was the only question and topic of debate in my head upon departure.

If I am not mistaken, this is the one and only Jjimjilbang (Korean spa) in Hong Kong…read more The place is located in a commercial building without much signage. Entrance is a closed door with metal gate, feeling kind of like you're entering someone's home. The lady who answered the door gave me a tour around: the lockers, the shower room, the sauna room, and so forth. There are also a nails corner, massage room, scrub room, etc. It was a weekday afternoon and seems like of the few patrons I am the only non-Korean. (The others were chatting on the phone in Korean or reading Korean magazine or watching Korean tv...) Staff are Chinese who speaks some Korean and Cantonese. I changed into my bathrobe, took a shower, then sweat a bit in the sauna room - made of jade and yellow clay, which supposedly help with detox. Afterwards I chilled out a bit in the living room, where I was told to "make myself at home." I opened one fridge, found some soda as well as little bottles of yakult. I opened the other fridge, wondering if there would be snacks (which some jjimjilbangs do provide), and found what looked like employee lunchboxes. Certain that I am not to "make myself at home" to such extend, I settled down with some tea and yakult and used the free wifi to catch up with life. Finally I told the lady that I'm ready for my body scrub. The body scrub is my favorite part of visiting a jjimjilbang. An ajumma will scrub literally every inch - okay, maybe minus a few square inches - of your body with a mitten, leaving you with baby soft skin. Afterwards, a bit more hanging around the sauna area till you decide it's time to go. For the adventurous, this place also provides chai yok (see http://www.fastcompany.com/3041307/body-week/i-went-to-a-spa-for-my-uterus-and-this-is-my-story), a vaginal steam bath using Japanese mugwort to regulate your menstrual cycle, cure your "female complains", lose weight, increase libido, and bring (literally) inner peace... Don't ask me... I guess I'm not *that* adventurous... True to jjimjilbang tradition, this place is open 24 hours - yes, you can stay overnight. It's for female only. Unlike most jjimjilbangs I visited, you can't just go in with a low entrance fee; you have to book some service - massage, scrub, whatever, I guess in some way to make the place more exclusive.
