Peng Chau is a small outlaying island off the South Western side of Hong Kong Island, you can catch…read morea ferry from Central District in Hong Kong to Peng Chau and the ride is about 40 mins. give and take, fare: around HK$22.00. For that, you get to get out of town and relax, breath some fresh sea air!
This small island is "Car Free", only bicycles and three wheeler cycles are the only mode of transportation for the islanders. Of course there are still the Fire Brigade & Ambulance Service and they use very very tiny vehicles!
Food wise, the island is dotted with Mom & Pops tiny shops and restaurants, nothing fancy, as most serves home style or Hong Kong Style foods.
Hoho Kitchen is a relatively new restaurant, not knowing much about it, trying is the only way to find out! Ordered very basic stuff: Beef & Vegetables on Rice, Curry Beef Brisket with Rice & Singapore Fried Vermicelli, and two Ice Tea with Lemon, total cost is just under HK$200.00.
I would say the food quality and flavour are all above average, comparing to most fast food outlets that serves similar type of food. This is a compliment as in HK, some of the fast food outlet like Cafe de Coral or Fairwood all serves pretty decent food, and with wide choice too and with very competitive pricing!
As you can see from my photos, the food is pretty good sized and if you are just stopping by for a quick bit before heading out to venture and explore the island, this may be a good place for you to refresh yourself!
