It's meant to look ragged and run down from the outside since it is a hot spot with the construction workers. It got popular due to quality of their food and they provide clean napkins despite the look of the place. The service is what you expect, minimal interaction and quick to take your order. Though, they do get some things mixed up due to how busy they are. They would constantly ask if you ordered "X" or "Y". I orders beef brisket noodles, two BBQ pigeons, iced red bean drink, and a buttered pineapple bun. The two things that shined is the iced red bean drink and the pigeon. It's quite rare to have the red bean taste in the drink, without being too sandy or watered down. Very traditional. The pigeon was really good In a sense that most places make it suck at it. In the last 10 years, I haven't had any as good as this place in Toronto or HK. Don't know what their secret is, but it wasn't too salty, dry or bland. FOOD Silky smooth tofu, you really can't ask for more. I chose the hot tau fu fa and I was blown away. It was only $9. I had the tau fu fa at Lamma Island and I must say that this store blew those ones out of the water. The tofu would just melt in your mouth. I want another bowl just thinking about it. You can add more brown sugar or ginger sugar water if you like your tau fu fa to be a bit sweeter. The ginger infused sugar water gives the dish a bit of a kick - you can barely taste the ginger but it adds some spice to the tofu. They also sell bottled soy milk so you can get one for the road. SERVICE/ATMOSPHERE Quick turnaround and service. They served the tofu before I even got a chance to pay. Efficiency at its finest. There is limited seating so don't expect this to be a place where you can sit and chat. The guys were friendly and were helpful when I asked for recommendations. Will definitely go again - this time I'll be sure to bring a few bowls back home.

Pretty good but the rice could be stickier/more chewy. - Black sesame dessert with sticky filled balls: 4 stars. My bud liked this. - Cotton shaved ice with mixed fruit: 3 stars. Not the best shaved ice I've had. Their cotton (aka snowflake aka "mien mien") shaved ice isn't as fine as this breed of shaved ice is supposed to be. - 6 fortune rice dumplings: I didn't try this but be warned - this comes in a very very very gingery broth that I imagine most people wouldn't like. - Mango pancake: 1 star. Basically a crepe like wrapper with whipped cream and a little bit of mango inside. Not good, skip this.
