Generally comes with pork chops, BBQ pork, meatballs, cheesy sausages, regular large sausages, corn, sweet potatoes, chicken, and a few more things. All the food is wrapped in sealed packages so it's a lot cleaner than other places where you grab the food yourself from refrigerators. These sets also come with the tongs, plates, tissues, utensils, scissors, and other items that you may need. Sets also come with a water and a beverage, usually a soda so for a 5-person set it comes with 5 bottles of water and 5 drinks. Environment: The place is outside but fully covered so it's not an issue if it's raining. They also have strong fans there in case it is quite warm. You also have a view of the water, and there is a bit of open space where kids bring the bikes and can ride around. They also have some dart machines for those that want to play. Prices: With the sets, and even adding on a little bit of food, I generally end up paying about $150.

Situated on the seaside on Ting Kok road is a compound with a carpark on one side and a village side on the other- this is where all the BBQ happens. Its a pay first then all you can eat barbeque and as opposed to normal BBQ sites where you have to pay for BBQ "Packs" of steak, sausages etc- they have here everything on a stick ready for you. The special fact is that they have a huge range of food items and you can even pay more to have a pot placed on the coal fire (the stove is like a rectangular box that sits on the table); they way you can even cook other seafood items in brine/ beer too. As I have mentioned, these is nothing really, really special about this place but it is just the entire experience which makes it better than other places. There is always plenty of food (the staff work really hard to replace any depleted items, sometimes there is a bit of a queue) and the food items they offer aren't the general sorts too. You pay just once for food (though drinks are another matter) which makes the experience a lot more convenient. the stove itself is another attraction as it is a coal stove but its a small one that sits on a table, meaning that you don't all have to huddle around a BBQ oven and leave some people out on the table; just makes for a better atmosphere. Of course there are the bad parts: its tricky to get there if you don't drive, I would call the place plush (its a BBQ site what do you expect) and on a busy day the smoke could get so overwhelming that by the time you leave you do get asphyxiated and turned into a smoked salmon yourself from the smoke coming from all the stoves. Seating is a bit random as they have constantly added tables so some are proper tables whilst some further out are add ons. As I said, you can't expect too much.

Hon Wo Korean Restaurant (漢和韓國料理) is an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ franchise popular in Hong Kong…read moreand which has 7 locations in the New Territories and Hong Kong Island. My relatives were a big fan of this place and praised how they served a huge variety of hot dishes in addition to an all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue selection of meats and seafood. We reserved a table at the Shek Mun location of Hon Wo Korean Restaurant for 8 for our lunch on a Saturday. When we arrived at the restaurant (on the second floor of the plaza right outside the Shek Mun MTR station -- so convenient), we were given a table right away. There were already many customers dining in. I browsed the selection of food available and perhaps the restaurant was overly hyped up for me, but I wasn't that amazed or impressed. There was a fruit station, dessert station, and the hot dishes consisted of vegetables, fried rice, Pig's Trotters in Ginger and Sweetened Vinegar (uncommon at buffets), spicy soup, fried chicken wings. There was a dedicated section for all the raw meats, seafood, and vegetables. There were individual tongs provided for each section of raw food. There was a lineup of people waiting for their turns. There was also a salad station with Korean cold banchan. At our table, we had two barbecue grills. I selected some fried rice, chilled spinach and black fungus. I wasn't that interested in the other hot dishes. The fried rice was quite good. For the raw meats, I chose pig intestines (one of my favourites and rarely seen at a KBBQ), marinated chicken, marinated beef, and some other cuts of beef, pork, and chicken. There was also a large refrigerator with drinks! This was actually the most impressive part in my eyes. It was all-you-can-drink with a huge selection of cultural drinks like "leng cha", Korean Milkis, Korean beers, Korean cider, and healthy drinks from the Healthy Kitchen brand in addition to the usual Coke, Fanta, etc. I hadn't had Korean Milkis before, so I took a can from the fridge. It was like a carbonated light milky drink that was refreshing. In terms of Korean BBQ, the secret to cooking the food well is patience. It takes time to ensure that the meat is not only thoroughly cooked but not overcooked either. You can't rush it. When I went back out to survey what was available, I saw that there were newly prepared platters of sushi available. I liked how they had vegetarian options for who didn't eat that much meat. All of the sushi were vegetarian. It was quite good. I also got some fried cabbage and chilled vermicelli noodles. I also tried the Pig's Trotters in Ginger and Sweetened Vinegar (豬腳薑醋). This was cooked and done really well. The vinegar wasn't too sour. After this, I went for the dessert section. The Osmanthus Flower Jelly (桂花糕) was delicious. There was grass jelly as well as tofu pudding. The grass jelly was good. The tofu pudding was down to the bottom of the barrel so it wasn't that "smooth". I was surprised to see the Thai coconut tapioca cakes in a tin foil form. It was impressively delicious as well. Although it's an all-you-can-eat buffet, there was surprisingly no seating limit. The food service ended at 3:30 p.m. so technically guests could stay from when they opened at 11:30 a.m. and continue eating all the way until 3:30 p.m. It is a very family friendly restaurant that is perfect for big groups and especially families. I say this because it is a very affordable all-you-can-eat restaurant. Each adult price for the AYCE weekend was only 133 HKD while seniors were 113 HKD. That is a huge steal for a buffet that includes so many selections of food and drinks. It's no wonder that my relatives raved about this place so much. During the weekday lunch, you can also order from the a la carte menu -- it's not all buffet style.

And Hon Wo keeps my stomach warm, happy, and in love. In love with ALL THAT MEAT. Forget Chako, this is a whole new level of Korean BBQ. And by that, I mean, you have a whole section dedicated to the 20 or so different raw meats/seafood that you can pick and choose from. AND THEN, you have a whole table full of cooked foods: salads, rice, soups, noodles, desserts, etc. Oh yeah, and a little table just for some sushi and sashimi. It's a KBBQ and a BUFFET! And while you're at it, grab a drink from the completely open, completely inclusive drink fridge. And no, these aren't sad, flimsy pieces of grey meat with no flavour. No. How about indulging in some pork belly...or lamb? Or sample the (at least) 5 different types of beef varying in thickness and spice level. FYI, grilled spam is sinfully good. Feeling a little heavy on the grease and protein? How about some grilled eggplant and pumpkin along with a little something from the salad station? Finish off by cleansing your palette with a soothing bowl of tofu pudding. KBBQ is easy to do but hard to make stand out, but Hon Wo did just that. Not only was the food plentiful, diverse, and amazing, it did something no other KBBQ I've been to has ever done: it didn't make me smell like a grill! Rejoice, friends, as this is a franchise so you can get your KBBQ fix in multiple locations. And with the rise in drama popularity, the quantity and caliber of Korean food will also surely rise. What a time to be alive! (92/100) - 2016

There are four buffet tables for: - AYCE marinated meat in all sorts of flavours - AYCE sushi! - AYCE soups, fried foods - AYCE ice-cream, drinks, jelly, cotton candy machine, cakes, some fruits OK OMG where do I start, because that's exactly what I thought when I sat down. Let's start with the most boring: SUSHI there is sushi in the back, 3 pieces of California sushi, 6 rolls of imitation crab sushi, 6 rolls of salmon sushi. There are two staff making sushi and sashimi is dinner only. There's cold salads, soba noodles, some other salad with a lot of dressing, two gigantic bowls of lettuce, a whole tub of wasabi SOUPS/FRIED FOODS one pot soup of the day (minestrone soup), 6 spring rolls, 10 pieces of fries, smelt fish with tons of eggs, 6 pieces of dumplings. Some fried fish (garlic and some other one). Kimchi and side dishes. The above is truly as sad as it sounds. But honestly you come here for: THE MEAT - marinated pork chop - pork belly - pork belly with herbs - pig ribs - honey BBQ pork - pork intestine with black pepper (I didn't eat this) - chicken fillet - chicken wings - chicken wings with herbs - beef with soybean paste - diced beef fillet - ox tongue - basa fillet - mackerel - marinated mini octopus - squid tentacle in curry and some others I didn't want to take photos of. VEGETABLES - mushrooms (enoki, French, and oyster I think) - lettuce - corn - pineapple - orange thing that looks like cheese DRINKS - fresh lemon tea (doesn't taste packaged) - fresh plum juice (doesn't taste packaged) - soymilk (cannot tell but doesn't taste packaged) DESSERTS - 6 tubs of ice-cream (no red bean, no green tea) - coconut jelly, jelly with herbs, jelly that looks like lego - chocolate fondue tower with two big bowls of marshmallows - chocolate lollipops - COTTON CANDY MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And whatever else I miss because my memory can only hold so much. There is a lot! For lunch 4 people, we each paid about $140. They add service charge to the bill. SERVICE OK maybe it's just my luck but they are extremely nice! They were patient, they reminded us that we need to eat by 3:45pm because they need to close the tables soon. The cleaning ladies were worried we didn't eat enough!!! THE RULES you eat for exactly 90 minutes. When your time is up, they come and pick up your plates and turn off the fire. However because we arrived at 2pm, our 90 minutes ends at 3:30pm. Sushi counter closes at 3:30pm, the rest closes at 3:45pm and the restaurant closes at 4pm. They reopen for dinner later. Technically we had more than 90 minutes because 3:30pm meant no new customers can come inside, they just let us take our time as we roast our marshmallows in the fire!!! ZOMG THERE IS A COTTON CANDY MACHINE!

They also set up some tables on the pavement outside, which is where we enjoyed our meal. There is an English menu available which is pretty straightforward to understand. We enjoyed some grilled lamb, smoked duck breast, Taiwanese sausage, ribs, and the whole grilled eggplant. Cumin, chili, garlic, and the delightful smokiness of the grill are the dominant flavors in play here. Good thing they're four of my most coveted flavors! The grilled eggplant arrives practically drowning in garlic, with some scallions and chili thrown in for good measure. Hands down the tastiest eggplant I've ever eaten. All the meat items are juicy and succulent, and cooked juuust the right amount. Pair your meal with a large, cold bottle of Tsingtao, and enjoy. There are a few skewer joints parked around Jordan, just off the main Temple Street where you can get lots of typical Hong Kong seafood dishes, but this eatery is master of the small box-grill. Don't expect anything big - this is truly a hole in the wall venue, with barely enough space to slide by small tables crammed with a handful of avid eaters. You get a ringside view of the man on the grill, whipping up his signature dishes in a flash - including baked oysters with truffle paste. Other highlights include the tender, juicy chunks of grilled lamb, and the whole grilled eggplant with far-too-much-garlic-to-repel-all-potential-suitors-but-delicious-nonetheless. Seafood-wise, the razorclams were pretty good, crunchy and with - again - a substantial amount of garlic (this is the general trend here), but frankly not as good as the fresh, plump Sai Kung varieties. Wash down all garlic-covered dishes with a cold beer. This is the Jordan way.
