Halfway was our occasional morning base, with solid Western breakfast fare: scrambled eggs on sourdough or avocado toast with smoked salmon and a solid latte and matcha latte.
The artful plating stands out, with food and drinks served on vibrant enamelled porcelain with intricate designs. That said, breakfast here veers towards the more basic: scrambled eggs on toast with a side salad and nicely plated pink mayonnaise. The sourdough bread was a good multigrain, but overall a surprisingly standard rendition of a breakfast open sandwich. In all, a nice spot with friendly service, a modern setting, good atmosphere and solid a-okay cafe fare that is beautifully plated.
