We have ordered the signature tsukemen and the "shrimp oil mixed noodle". Both of them were very yummy. They were able to keep the same standard as the Central shop. The noodle is chewy and the soup is thick, while the mixed noodle is oily and fatty (I like it:P). Will definitely come more often.

The menu was small with a little over 10 items in the lunch set, but it was really good. I got the grilled beef set which came with a salad, rice, miso soup, and a few other goodies on the tray. For a change of pace, Ramen Kureha serves ramen in a unique shrimp based broth. The soup is overflowing with shrimp eggs. It also contains fresh bouncy moderately large shrimp, a bit of chili oil, garlic, and seaweed. it is powerful, earthy, and tastes like the sea has been reduced into your ramen bowl. There are two bar seating areas only, with a max of maybe 10-12 seats. You order your bowl of ramen by marking on a piece of paper your order, and any preferences you might have (how soft you want your noodles, how concentrated you want the soup, any onions, garlic, etc.). When you are ready, you hand your paper to the waiter and wait for your noodles! I wanted the award winning bowl, which is supposedly limited to 30 bowls a day. But due to the complexity of the soup and the difficulty of acquiring the ingredients, they limit their 30 bowls to only Saturdays and Sundays. Since I went on a weekday, I ended up ordering their White Truffle Ramen. This was so delicious! The housemade ramen (you can see them make it in the kitchen) was perfectly cooked with the right texture, the 16 hour tonkotsu broth was super flavorful but yet light and refreshing, and the chashu was soft, fatty, and tender. Topped with some minced truffle, this was the best bowl of ramen I've had in a while. If this was this good, I wonder how good the limited edition award winning one tastes! This is definitely a must-try if in the area. Only a short walk from Tin Hau mtr station.

For the ramen, there are several choices like the red spicy one; the black one with squid oil and the white one with original taste. Since I cannot take the heat; and I certainly do not want my teeth to go scary black, I normally go for the plain pork one so as it tastes just as good. One good thing about this place is that egg sometimes is served as a whole instead of chopped in half. There's an option to add $28 for a combo, i.e. half-boiled egg + salad + soft drinks. The soup is very concentrated and salty but filled with the smell of truffles which is very pleasant. The chewiness of noodles was alright though my personal preference is to be more softer (I am too lazy to chew). The ramen also goes with two pieces of meat which is tender to eat. I have also tried a spoon of my frd's ramen soup. Hers was fish bone soup, having s sense of freshness which is nice too.
