I had intended to visit here when I stayed in 2024, but wasn't able to. I was finally able to on my final day of my Asia trip, before taking the bus to the airport. I liked the interior design of this place, with lots of resemblance of HK street life, as well as a MTR-like map that mixes actual Tuen Ma Line stations with popular HK style cafe items. I had the satay beef instant noodles with scrambled egg and toast. It was good! The satay had a flavourful taste, and the scrambled egg was exactly how it should be: layered and relatively smooth. Service was efficient here. I definitely prefer this place over the two HK style cafes down the road closer to the hotel.

It was rather flavorless and not toasty :( They do have several large tables, so it's good for bigger parties. The food also comes out in record time, and the service is actually okay (for HK-cafe standards). This explains why CU-ers see this place as a safe haven to retreat to when we need food past the normal hours when all but this place is open, also because of this, the is a constant crowd in the late night with people gather round there to chill and to chat. Most commonly referred as "Lui Gung", actually the staff working here are jobless females who instead of applying for government subsidy, group together to sell snacks and a little of this and that to make a living; much of the things sold there are handmade and prepared by then. Since the items are all made in small batches, it is inevitable that the per unit price is slightly higher than the normal price. It is nonetheless worth supporting especially when considering the fact that they are self financed and self sufficient; a noble feat of courage and perseverance. There was a period when the school was considering introducing large chains into the campus to provide catering service while driving out small, self financed shops like "Lui Gung"; it is fortunate that the students of CU stood together to fence that off, otherwise, the university is going to lose one of the most dignifying stores in the whole of this large campus.
