You can tell if a place is good by how busy they are. We were lucky two people left when we got here. If you haven't had dai pai dong, just note a few things: you will be sharing a table with others; bring your own napkins, clean your utensils, tip as they clean your table for you eventhough it seems like fast food (some won't take your tip though). A few things that stood out for me at this place is not only the friendly servers but also that they actually provide napkins and there's a pitcher of tea to share with the table and condiments. The food here was delicious, authentic (per my chinese friend) and inexpensive.
Food is served family style. We shared the "deep fried pork and peppered salt," which was probably my fave. The seasoning tasted like five spice, and It's not greasy unlike american "deep frying." It's more of tossing the seasoned pork in light flour. We also had the clams in black bean sauce which was also amazing! The red pepper gave it the perfect kick! The squid in black bean sauce was also very tasty basically like the clams. My friend and I were full and happy when we left. They also serve beer and close late. Great for late night grub. read more
