The Good: If you want to blow some cash on luxury brands, this place is insane. It's Hong Kong's…read morebiggest mall right on Canton Road and it has over 450 stores. Basically every high-end designer you've ever heard of has a massive flagship here. The food options are great too, especially the restaurants by the water with floor-to-ceiling windows. The Bad: Honestly, the vibe can be a lot. Because the mall connects a bunch of different giant buildings, it feels like an endless, confusing maze. The maps aren't super helpful and it is way too easy to get lost. We didn't have a ton of time to spend here, and we felt like we wasted most of it just trying to figure out where we were.

However, this shopping centre gets intensely packed. We visited on a Monday, and it was still way too crowded inside. The combination of the heavy crowds and the unique spiral layout actually made me feel a bit dizzy while navigating the floors. On the plus side, there is a great variety of shopping options, from upscale retailers to trendy boutiques, along with a movie theater and plenty of standalone restaurants. That being said, the actual food court area felt surprisingly small for a mall of this scale. We ultimately didn't spend much time here because it was a bit overwhelming, and we preferred to walk around the vibrant open-air spots nearby in Mong Kok. It is worth a quick look for the design, but be prepared for major foot traffic.

Pros + Price: let's be real. You're in Asia, where are all those cheap deals? Mong kok is the place to go. If you're a bargain wizard, you will definitely have fun here. + Variety: from food, bubble tea and earrings to clothing, you can probably buy almost everything here. Minus...probably groceries. + Public transportation friendly Cons - "Trying it on" is unheard of if you're buying clothes. Better to prepared and know your measurements. It's like buying clothes from aliexpress, but you get to see it in person before you buy - Cash: you probably need to bring cash. Each stall likely has a different policy about credit or debit cards (let alone international cards). This is basically a girl's shopping haven. My heart goes out to your partner if you're bringing a dude along.

I would describe it as more of a building full with tiny tiny shops. Whatever you can imagine, you can find at the mall. There were electronics stores, clothes of all kinds, purses, food stalls, gift shops and much more. Here's the interesting thing, each of these shops were only about 50-100 sq ft in size. Now there is about 4 stories on shops just like these. 4 floors of mini shops, with the bra shop sitting next to a gift shop next to a closet that sells curry fish balls. Was it a ton of stuff to buy, no, not really. But it was interesting. It was just like a indoor "ladies street." What I can't believe is how long Nathan Road goes all the way through Hong Kong and yes iSQUARE is one of them and was the closer access from our hotel. What honestly caught our eye are the many signs informing you of what's inside and it was Miniso. The cuteness overload was just so hard to resist and though there are many other biz, restaurants and even movie theater time and lack of energy has us being very selective and we did browse around a bit not really knowing the other shops that was there and getting around with some floors using the escalators while some was accessible by elevators was quite exhausting. If they had better directory so that we knew exactly where to browse we'd might've stayed longer but then again thankfully we didn't as this shopaholic had quite a full luggage. Thank you!

Years ago I started coming here every time I visited Hong Kong - to unlock my cell phone, to get…read morethe latest and cutest accessories for my phones, to check out the many models not available in the U.S. My brother also comes here to sell his old stuff. Nowadays, with my phones come in unlocked, and so many things easily purchased on Amazon, I don't really need to come here. But I still do, once in a while, for the experience of it. This center is divided up into over a hundred of little stalls, each with about 5-10 feet of store front. Each is manned by a man or woman (sometimes a teenager), who will be eating or playing with the phone (or both) if not helping a customer. If you chat with them, you'll be amazed by the width and depth of their product knowledge. They know their phones inside out. They will glance at your phone and know which screen cover or holder you need, or which gadget works with your phone. If they don't have it they will go over to the next stall to get it for you. For US$1 or less they will stick the screen cover on perfectly for you, if you are the type who tends to mess it up. Honestly the customer service beats the American big boxes or phone service centers by a mile. I've never bought phone here, so I don't know how trustworthy they are, but if you need some accessory to dress up your phone, this is a pretty good place to go.
When my friends come to Hong Kong and they ask me where they can buy electronics from- I usually…read moretell them Fortress because let's be honest; its a big place where they can get everything, with warranty and though it might not be the cheapest on earth- its probably a hell of a lot cheaper than it is back home already. Then there are those who come here for specific products- computers, personal electronics and most of all- phones. For the more adventurous and looking for a real bargain, or they are just looking to have their phones fixed quick and on the cheap; I would recommend them to go to Sin Tat. Sin tat is a complex in the middle of bustling Mongkok that is filled from top to bottom (well two levels) with mobile phone stores. New phones, second hand phones, spares, parts, accessories- anything to do with a mobile you will find it there. In the old days when there were a million different brands it was truly a spectacle, it was similar to a showdown of the brands but repeated over and over again with the different shops. Nowadays with people just using a handful of different brands, its down to the pricing, phones are significantly cheaper here than it is outside and its down to your jaw power to see how much of a discount you can negotiate (not really much though these days). If you are to venture there to buy something I would recommend that you bring a local friend as foreigners there are just sheep waiting to be slaughtered. Its not a rough place as such but its not Disneyland either. Do be really careful in what you buy as there have been many stories of second hand being passed off as new phones, fraud tactics of sorts hence you should really be on your guard. However, if you were to get a new phone on the cheap- you can't beat this place.

I have heard you can spend 8 hours here easily; I don't know how true that is lol. You can certainly find a lot of Western brands here, and many popular Asian brands as well. The food scene also attracts me here. When you arrive at MTR Kwai Fong Station, there is a footbridge already conveniently connecting you to Metroplaza. First thing you see would be the ginormous MUJI. Omg, it is like heaven in that store! It has beautiful interior designs, and an impressively large food section :D The pricing at this shopping centre is considered middle ranged; you can certainly find deals here when you look into it. I really enjoy shopping for shoes at these stores: Dr. Kong, Oriental Traffic, Staccato - I love their style, comfort level, and they often have my petite size in stock. Random tip: Female washrooms are usually packed on the lower floors... just head up a few floors and you will find it less congested.
My workplace is currently in this building and I have to admit that this is a pretty cool building…read more I'm in one of the office towers and since there isn't anything quite as high as this place in Kwai Fong, you end up getting some pretty good views, as a teacher, my students seem to enjoy the view too. It seems however that they didn't really think the windows through properly, considering how my windows appear to undergo a compression and expansion cycle during the day, where I start hearing these loud snapping noises. On the bright side, the office tower elevators are really speedy and they do split their elevators up by floors served. The mall below is quite large with some dining options. While there are much cheaper places to eat outside the mall, their offerings generally aren't too bad. There's also a lot of retail outlets for footwear and clothing, and really good connections to transit and other malls, so it's a pleasant building to be in overall. There's even a park with a running track just opposite the building. The management of this building definitely puts a lot of work in this building. While this place is a few decades old by now, it still looks and feels really new on the inside and it really isn't showing its age at all. I guess that's what happens when you consider interior designs thoughtfully and also renovate every so often. It am however annoyed by the absence of recycling facilities in both the mall and the office towers. Considering how Hong Kong has a landfill problem, and this place is smack-dab in the middle of a Residential and Industrial area (which probably actually does some of the recycling), It's puzzling as to why they don't recycle. I guess I'll write to management to find out.
