My friends and I were walking around in Causeway Bay looking for a place to have dinner, and the huge Pizza Hut sign caught our eyes. Even though I've ordered from Pizza Hut quite a few times, I've never actually eaten there so I wasn't sure what I was in for.
It was around 7pm by the time we were there and since it was a weekend, it was pretty crowded. We got a number and waited for around 15 minutes before we were led to a table. There isn't really an area for you to stand around in when you wait, and it got a little annoying because the outside of the restaurant started to get really crowded as more and more people came. When we finally sat down, we saw that they were currently doing a promotion on their cheese fondue, and the picture on the menu looked too tempting - thick, smoldering cheese in a pot - and we all agreed to order that. And no meal at Pizza Hut is complete without a pizza, of course! After some pondering, we decided on the Meat Lovers' pizza.
The pizza was alright - nothing too special, and by then I was pretty hungry so anything tasted good to me. I thought that there was a little too much meat on the pizza though - I know, I shouldn't be complaining about that since I did order a Meat Lovers' pizza after all, but there really was too much meat that I didn't feel like I was eating pizza anymore!
The cheese fondue was really disappointing. First of all, it wasn't even served that hot - it was like warm-ish hot, definitely not hot enough for a fondue. Somehow, even though it was literally a pot of cheese, the fondue itself didn't really taste like cheese - it tasted kind of watered down. And the side dishes that were given to accompany the fondue were pretty bad. The croutons were basically just bread - they weren't crispy at all, the penne pasta was cold, and well, the fries and the fried chicken were okay I guess but not very hot either.
I don't think I'll be back. It doesn't make sense to me that the restaurant was so full, yet the food was average at best. The cheese fondue was definitely below average - it wasn't even served hot. My friends all agreed that it wasn't the best. I wouldn't advise you to come here - regardless of which Pizza Hut you're thinking about going, I'm sure there are better restaurants in the vicinity! read more
