Came here for brunch as it was near our hotel…read more We came 15 mins after opening and were seated quickly. They gave us a booklet along with the paper to fill out, and most of the dim sum was the classic dim sum that I'm accustomed to. Their chiu chou fun gor was alright for me. They did put a good amount of peanuts in here but the exterior was a bit heavier on the dough side. Their siu mai and har gow were pretty good. Their cheung fun wasn't the silky light type, so I was just alright with it. Their Chicken with Sticky Rice wraped in Lotus Leaf was huge though, way bigger than those in Los Angeles. Their fresh mango custard roll was my highlight though, as they had chunks of mango in the middle and it was sweet. Would try this again. I think the one other aspect of this place is the interior is really clean, and they have a decent amount of tables inside. Service is a bit more attentive as the area isn't as large. I was most certainly full upon completion of this meal though haha.

Mark your order down on the sheet and go to the register to pay and turn in your order. Prices seemed to be slightly on the higher side at a first glance, but our final check ended up being pretty affordable. We tried their har gow, siu mai, baked BBQ pork buns, shrimp rice rolls, deep fried pork dumplings, and deep fried shrimp wonton. Food came out fast and I was pretty happy with all the items we ordered. Overall, decent spot for dim sum but I'd probably only come back if the wait wasn't too long.

Had some 韭菜豬紅 (Chives and pork blood pudding) 炸雞軟骨 (fried soft chicken tendons) and 豆粕豆角 (fried tofu with string beans). OMG, they were so good with a bowl of plane congee that I had. I must have put on weight. They are only open in the evenings & use to open into the wee hours before Covid.

FAST and cheap ! great for dinner or late night gatherings for some food and beer. What makes this place different from most restaurants is their kitchen is OUTSIDE. When you are near by, you WILL hear the ROARING flame of the fire from the individual wok areas they have. My family in HK had brought us here for dinner during our visit in April 2016. We had just came here just early enough before the rush. We got a table almost instantly. Yes this place still has lots of outdoor seating but what surprised me is how brightly lit and clean the interior areas were as well. Whats funny is ive ate next door before this place existed 10 years ago. XD Same concept place. You can go around and view the chef's working their magic with the wok on the volcano of a stove. Some will even particularly give you some extra "show". It makes them happy some people are still interested. We had ordered a few things. honey sauce/glazed pork chops, deep fried pig intestine, stuffed fried tofu and eggplants, steamed garlic shrimp, deep fried milk fish, malaysia style on choy, and salted egg & garlic yin choy. To my surprise though not too surprised... my favs were (in no particular order) the deep fried milk fish, deep fried pig intestine, and steamed garlic shrimp. Pork chops. Nothing too special. sweet savoryish sour sauce with pork chop. Deep fried pork intestine - not special but something i havent had in a long time so it was nice and tasty XD Fried stuffed eggplant and tofu - nothing too special, similar to what i make at home too. Salted egg with garlic yin choy - not so common vegetable in the state but still available. this particular one had red leaves too. ive only seen the green leaved version. Simple dish in a broth. Nice and light Malaysia style on-choy - to be honest, not sure what the sauce is. But ive noticed the malaysia style tends to have dried baby shrimp and chili. Lol Steamed garlic shrimp - simple. TONS of garlic. though i expected the shrimp to be bigger in comparison to the picture that was on the wall. but omg so tasty. THAT GARLIC *drools* om nom nom hahaha Deep fried milk fish - recommendation from my uncle. Ive never had it. Boneless (but as with all fish, id still be careful anyway). Lightly battered. Deep fried. The fish was light. Batter was crispy but light. It was really done well. Definitely a recommendation from me to others. Overall. Great place to eat at. As said, one of the last few left. If you are one who has been raised in the states, you may not like the chairs being plastic stools and you need to clean your own utensils and stuff. This particular location is a lot cleaner than i remember these places to be so im quite surprised. Especially the area it is in. Their order to table times are ridiculous. We had our entire order even faster than sometimes even one dish coming out in the states. Benefits of this style of cooking. SUPER fast. I've been told this place ONLY opens at night but i swear i heard the flame roaring mid-day another day when we were walking around near-by.

That wok hei (the breath of the wok) is what makes each of these dishes stand out. I was so impressed with how fast the food came to the table. Here is what we ordered based on what seems to be their most popular: - Typhoon Shelter Shrimp (get this) - Beef & Potatoes (my fave) - Razor Clams in black bean (my son's fave) - Ong Choy with Shrimp Paste (Amazing) It's not just beef and potatoes, it's smoky, slightly charred, uniquely flavored. And the Typhoon Shelter Shrimps were so meaty and insanely delicious with all the garlic bits. Very packed even for a Monday evening but there are plenty of seating at different sections of the entire place. There is A/C. I see lots of people ordering beer as well. It really doesn't get any better than this.

Not the hottest given the fact the chefs use kerosene to cook. Pretty good flavoring on it. Beef cubes were tender. It's good but extremely expensive. Typhoon Shelter eggplant. First time ever seeing this type of dish. Very unique. Came out very hot. The typhoon shelter seasoning did not coat each eggplant. It was more like the eggplant sat on top of the seasoning. This dish came way too late. We were already almost finished our beef. We chased the servers twice and both times neither went to go check. They just said it's coming soon. They've lost the charm of a dai pai dong after they got famous. They have way too many servers that stand around and not look out for customers who waive them down. They charge you for bringing outside food/drinks. Apparently they were celebrating their 79th anniversary and handed out phoenix rolls. However, not everyone got one. You only get one if you ask..

The tasting menus look great, but I am not hungry enough to have a multi-course menu so I ordered a chicken and fish maw soup and a wagyu beef and foie gras fried rice in claypot. The meal started with a honey walnut snack and an amuse bouche of mini osmanthus cake. The chicken and fish maw soup was delicious and very filling, so I was halfway full by the time I finished eating it. I believe the restaurant calls it "Eight Treasures Soup" in English probably because there are 8 unique ingredients in it. The fried rice is so well made with a well-balanced portion of Wagyu beef and foie gras. I could smell the lovely fragrance of both the soup and the fried rice as soon as they were brought to the table. Service is also exemplary as the waiter and waitress were always attentive and quick when I needed their service. I highly recommend trying this restaurant for a superb Chinese cuisine dining experience.

I definitely recommend not missing out on it! I also enjoyed the bbq eel, especially how it was cut into bite sized pieces and grilled perfectly. We tried a couple of more adventurous dumplings like the tricolor dumpling set and lobster dumpling, which were very creative but ultimately kind of strange combinations of seafood and vegetables. We got mango sago for dessert as it's a popular Cantonese dessert, which was nice but not the star of the show. Service was polite, fast, and English-friendly. The restaurant is located in a hotel attached to a huge mall, so it was nice to shop around while waiting for our reservation time.
