If you're in the mood for some "modern" dim sum, Lei Bistro is by far my favorite place to get some. I love Lei Bistro because it offers unique items that I can't find in NY. Think panfried turnip cake in homemade XO sauce, noodle with wonton in seafood soup, fried bean curd sheet roll filled with mushroom, and spiced tofu. As you can see, they don't offer just dim sum but noodle and rice dishes as well. Though the dishes can be on the pricier side when compared to a local small dim sum shop, you get what you pay for! The food here is absolutely phenomenal and even the presentation is fancy. The interior is unlike typical dim sum restaurants in HK - it's very classy and elegant.
The best part? They have English menus! I honestly think all the dishes I've tried here are great so it's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu! Although the food can take a while to be served, the service is really excellent. They're nice even when I come here to get take out after work. It's location is unbelievably convenient - inside a shopping mall and near the MTR. read more
