It's basically one of a small chain, the other stores in Wan Chai, Soho, and Disco Bay, selling healthy whole foods, such as qinoa, fenugreek (nope, I have no idea what this is either), kettle chips, organic pasta, Quorn, and icecreams. It's actually a reasonably priced shop, given the products are premium and imported like Quorn, and also have to come beyond "main" HK and onto an outlying island. Produce sells at a similar price to the regular shops in HK. The best bit of this store (which is only at this store and not the HK ones) is the "pseudo" cafe at the rear. It's not a coffee shop, not by a far stretch. It is more like a small seating area where you can have snacks and drinks bought in store. They even have serve yourself teas, which is essentially a cup, a teabag and a kettle, and that you make up for yourself. Remember to make purchases before you enjoy. Beyond the seating area is a small pleasantly decorated terrace overlooking the sea. On a hot day, I like to come for the real fruit lollies and hang out at the back of the shop. It's kinda pleasant to look at the sea, whilst in the AC eating ice lollies. Reminds me of Brighton Beach.

And the best part for me is some gluten-free options. Man, my eyes just sparkled when I saw the 'GF' label. Then the personal health care products which are mostly imported from Europe and the States. Handmade soaps, fair-trade shampoo and now the overwhelming 100% natural coconut oil. I found my German brand xxx shampoo and conditioner which I used to have in Amsterdam. Surprise. And for clean-eating people, the muesli, granola and nuts shelves are heavens. They have house label nuts and cranberries etc., packed in bags and last for a short period which still keeps the freshness. Their wine selection is from Albert Heijn from the Netherlands when I saw the back label. Haha. No wonder some familiar brands merged into my eye level. Organic beer available here. It would be brilliant if they gonna add on the Australian Goat beer ale. Walk further, they have a real cafe that serve soul food. With the terrace facing the Lamma pier, chewing some carrot cake and sip organic Chandoney from South Africa can make a perfect weekend.

Of course, I found it! This place is equal to cross between Whole Foods and Bristol Farms in CA. You'll be sure to find exclusive items you can't find elsewhere. Of course, it comes with an equally impressive price tag. My Maldon Salt cost the same as it would had I gotten it from a specialty store in SoCal such as The Butchery. The ginger infused sugar water gives the dish a bit of a kick - you can barely taste the ginger but it adds some spice to the tofu. They also sell bottled soy milk so you can get one for the road. SERVICE/ATMOSPHERE Quick turnaround and service. They served the tofu before I even got a chance to pay. Efficiency at its finest. There is limited seating so don't expect this to be a place where you can sit and chat. The guys were friendly and were helpful when I asked for recommendations. They carry some extra virgin olive oils at very good prices, but they only have Italian ones which is a bit shortsighted for olive oil specialists. Besides that shelf by the entrance they have all kinds of confectionary, nuts, dried fruits, spices, some wines, canned food (fish, meat and vegetables) and pasta. Most of them are from European origin, mainly Italy but Spain, Germany or Austria are also represented. The staff let you browse around, in fact in the three times I've been there, no one has ever offered any help or advice. That's okay with me because I knew what I was after but some people may appreciate a bit more customer service. What I like the most about the shop though is that I can find special products not so easy to spot at supermarkets and definitely better priced. I love their sundried tomatoes (not only their taste but their price!) and the big cans (3 Kgs) of jalapeños and chopped tomatoes. These are not for me because I don't cook in bulk but it may be worth for families. Their spicies are also good - no fancy package but who needs that when they are more than half the prize than Taste of Fusion? And who needs that for spicies anyway...! They also have some good coconut oils, at reasonable prices and their nuts are also okay, but Prizemart beats them! They carry both well known brands and their own brand. I guess if you're not comfortable with that you can ask them about origin, etc. They were initially just traders and have an important wholesale business behind. We were the only table the entire visit. Service was slow. They took a long time to come out and take our order. Durian Tofu Pudding - I've been craving durian since prior to going on this trip and i wanted something remotely cold vs a hot desert. Very simple desert. For the lack of a better word while writing this review, the durian was mushed and shaped. About the amount of a tablespoon or so on a bed of sweet cold tofu. Interesting combination. Cold tofu is on the blander side but paired with durian was nice. Mango & Coconut Pudding - sliced fresh mangos served inside a young coconut opened on top with mango and coconut pudding. Unscraped young coconut meat inside too for you to scrape and eat ! Chocolate Lava Cake - Took the longest to make as noted earlier but as name suggest. Its a lava cake. Has to be baked fresh at a precise timing for the outside the set and inside still to be melty and gooey. Served with a scoop of ice cream. My friend was happy. He offered some for me to try but i opt'ed out and let him have it all. My best friend tried it and said it was very chocolate-y. Lol Which means its pretty chocolate-y. XD Overall. was ok. Though I appreciate the English menu it's a little bit misleading because the photos and the description don't quite match, but it's a good enough translation to make a decision. We also tried the Longan Sago with Ice Cream which was nothing too special and the Green Tea Honey Toast was also decent. Overall, it's a good place if you're having a sweet tooth.
