I was here for a press event with a Hollywood celebrity because on my own, I wouldn't be able to afford to rent out the venue as it is the most exclusive function room in town. First off, this function room was hard to find. When I was inside the hotel, the staff didn't understand when I said I needed to go to "Tian and Di", and instead directed me to the hotel room elevators. At some point, I was thinking "does this place even exist?" because no one knew how to get there. I walked around for about 15 minutes and saw that it was on the same floor as Amber (consistently ranked the best restaurant in the city), so I just popped on an elevator and press the 7th floor. Getting off the elevator, I took a peek at Amber to my right, knowing that I would have to blow serious dough just to afford an appetizer there. Upon entering the venue, I sensed the intimate nature and privacy of the place. It was really quiet, classy, and exuded luxury like no other function room that I've been to. The staff in charge of tea and confections were highly trained, moved fast, and were rarely seen as they seem to blend with the surroundings. The carpet was exquisitely velvet and the chair comfy as a cloud. As I sat down, I received the press release for the event and the rundown, which they happily gave to me in Chinese while a woman who sat next to me had both the English and Chinese version. Overall, if you've got the greens to book Tian, Di or both(!), go right ahead as the venue is truly stellar and totally discrete. The building itself is lovely, great Central location with an old school, established feel. I had dinner in the main dining room, which was well lit and cosy. I should've taken the member's advice and chosen from the Indian food menu, as the chefs are Indian. I ordered from the grill, giving the Australian petit mignon a try. The steak itself was cooked perfectly medium rare. The steamed veggies that came with it had no taste; it definitely needs seasoning. You have a choice for sauces and style of potatoes; I chose the fries and it was nothing to Yelp about. For dessert I had the American apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, which is an extra $20HK. It took 20 minutes to prepare and was a nice ending; however, nothing about it particularly stood out. Our table brought our own bottle of wine, but I'm unsure if there's a corkage fee. Service was friendly and professional, though it was very busy Friday night and occasionally things would be forgotten (we didn't get our bread basket until midway through our main course.) Overall, decent dining experience. If there's a next time, I'll go for the Indian food!

The eggs were a little bit undercooked, some of the egg white was still runny, the ham was a little bit dry, but the mushrooms and tomatoes were fine. They are very generous with the toast, giving you four pieces. The coffee was a solid cup of joe. The saving graces for the FCC are the atmosphere (relaxed and casual) and extensive menu. There are plenty of choices such as an American breakfast set, English breakfast set, Hong Kong breakfast set, pancakes, omletes, pancakes, pastries, cereal, oatmeal, congee, eggs benedict, corn beef hash, and much more. So we rented a tiny little office space from The Executive Centre at 3 Pacific Place in Hong Kong,…read morewhich was fine for our purposes at the time. When it got to a time for us to expand our office, we gave our notice and waited for the repayment of our deposit. The Executive Centre then proceeded to send us a bill for the "reinstatement fee" for getting the office back to its original state. This bill was loaded with numerous unjustifiable "expenses" at ridiculously inflated prices. We got charged, among other things, HK$ 5000 for moving away loose furniture prior to tough up work. Keeping in mind that this office is barely big enough to fit two desks. We got unnecessarily charged for insurance of the contractors, site supervision, pest control etc, on top of the actual touch up painting which on its own was an astronomical HK$ 8000. It's like the bill got padded just enough for them not to have to pay back the deposit, and I'll bet that if the deposit was higher, the bill would have been higher. All in all it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth and years of loyal support counts for nothing. Take you business elsewhere.

I also really liked the take on the chow fun. Beef is cut thin and is really tender. Can cut the meat without a knife and the dried lemon peel was a nice touch. The sourdough egg waffles are a must order. My friends at the table were trying to figure what they put in the dipping sauce because it was such a unique taste and was really delicious.
