I was expecting a tourist trap, but it was quite OK: it is a traditional restaurant, but the food is done to perfection. I had a caldo verde (the famous kale soup), great on a chilly evening, followed by cabrita (goat) - something I had been dreaming of for years. Goat is excellent, and certainly not some sort of lamb: its meat is both smoother and tastier. Service was good, and so was the alvarinho - what else?

The restaurant is so charming; located on a small Travessa just off of the main town square. It is romantic and a perfect place for a couple enjoying a night out or for a small group looking for an intimate dinner location.

Also, the house wine (vinho verde, an Alvarinho) is very good. However, please be careful about the appetizers: they are really expensive ! When we arrived, they brought us bread, olives and cheese (asking us if we wanted it), but actually the bread costs 2€, the olives 2€, the cheese slices 2,75€ and the butter 0,50€. They also brought some small appetizers, without asking nothing (we thought: nice, appetizers from the chef), but they were charged 3€. For the rest, the waiters were very nice and welcoming. In conclusion, if you directly take the main fish plates, you won't be disappointed ;-)

Dinner seating started at 7 so we had a drink and watched the sunset next door (great people and good cocktails) then headed over. Great greeting, nice table. The food was fantastic- steak for me and monkfish for my wife. The wine and bread were great. We struck up a conversation with a French couple at the next table and hope to see them on the path.
