The fish we ordered to be grilled was first presented to us fresh for approval. Don't get me wrong this isn't one of those fancy places that serve you a sample of fish. It's a glorified tavern, noisy, crowded but with amazing food. We ordered some appetizers and the grilled chouriço, grilled turbot, seafood rice, "clarinha" ( a local sweet delicacy), chocolate cake, and couple of other things I can remember. The food was AMAZING! The seafood rice was loaded with shrimp of several sizes and other delicious shells. Dinner for 4 with drinks was around $120 which is a bargain for the quality and quantity of food you're getting. Highly recommend.

You can tell it was handled with care, not just thrown together. Dessert was the legendary Abade de Priscos pudding -- a centuries-old Braga classic. Think quindim's sophisticated European cousin: insanely rich, silky, packed with egg yolks. And then comes the plot twist... bacon in the recipe. Sounds weird. Works brilliantly. Sweet, savory, and unforgettable. Came hungry, left impressed, and slightly obsessed. Would absolutely come back.

Not sure if they were comprehensive somehow the rubbery hors d'oeuvres were still being passed around during the lunch service. - Daily Special 1: Monk Fish Rice Stew. For the cooking I give it an okay but they served this soupy stew on a flat plate!? - Daily Special 2: Grilled Cod on crispy bread crumbs, sounded interesting and good presentation however it was very greasy home cooking. The restaurant is using the traditional family plating style service, somehow missing serving utensils, so the server had to borrow mine, and then returned to me as they were used! To me the young staffs were nice and polite but apparently they have no training, no idea in steps of table services. In such a place with a plaque says "Michelin" on the door, I wish them the best! Friendly service, good quality cuisine prepared in the most Portuguese manner. I usually order the cod Muralha style because it is the house specialty and in Portugal that usually means you'll get the best on the menu. Caldo verde - also hard to go wrong with in Portugal - is recommended as well. Order a bottle of Loureiro - vinho verde branco, seco, from the Adega da Cooperativa de Ponte de Lima.
