Not only is it jam packed with inventory almost every visit there's a stylist or "kitchen beautician" in store more than willing to help. The key differentiator for me is the product knowledge, friendliness, and helpfulness of the owner and their son. They get it y'all! The staff is always able to come from behind the register to walk you to the exact products. I had a very detailed conversation with the male owner about edge control options (lol) and I must admit. I learned a few things. Ample parking, be aware there could be panhandlers and loiterers standing outside the store during your visit.

Bad Service - This salon wanted a deposit to make an appointment, and they were less than polite…read moreupon arrival. Bad Technique, Roller Set - They put huge sections of hair on each roller. This led to a poor finish because there was too much hair on the rollers. This also led to a scorched scalp because there were large spaces between each roller that were exposed to direct heat from the dryer. Bad Technique, Blow Out - Several section of hair were butterfly clipped and then blown out separately and never blended together. No idea why the clips. I was distracted by poor roller brush skills. Not one spin. Bad Product - Maybe it was what they sprayed on my hair before the poor roller set, I'm not sure. But my hair was heavy, dull, and flat - all effects of a bad blow out too. It took three shampoos for me to get those, "okay, it's clean" suds at home. Bad Service, Pricing - When I scheduled the appointment, I told them I have long hair and I wanted a roller set, blow out, and style, and they stated their price. At checkout, she kept my change and said it was because I have long hair and I asked her to put curls at the bottom. Wow. BOTTOM LINE: Go someplace else. This salon seems to have had bad customer experiences in the past, so they now treat every customer like they wish they'd treated the bad customers in their past. I regret trying to tolerate their weirdness at every step because it carried through to the end and my hair and scalp suffered for it. As for keeping my change, I tip more than that and I'm a bi-weekly regular shopping for a new salon after relocating to a new state. They can keep the change. I'll keep shopping.

I felt she was off on my mom's color a bit, but nothing I couldn't fix up. I love picking up haircare products from here, but do be careful. I feel some of the products might be a little too old. I had gone to Cali and picked up a bottle of styling product but left it in Cali when I left. So I went to the Sally's back home and picked up the same bottle but the product wasn't clear like the other one. It turned out to be a really nasty yellow color. I wasn't sure if the product was bad or if that's how it was suppose to be. So I'm going to be a little more cautious picking up some of their generic brands. I do however love picking up their deep conditioning packets that are almost always on sale for .99cents. Great for if you're always dying your hair! They have tons of products for your nails, hair to do extensions, accessories for hair, and appliances. You might get a good deal here than you would other places on appliances. So it doesn't hurt to check in to see if you can pick up something here than running to the nearest Utla.

They have heavy duty pins that stay put in my hair all day and night. Their selection of hair care products is out of this world and it is where I discovered what I call my "magic wand", my Helen of Troy hot air brush, that gives my hair a pretty wave, without having to roll it. It was a bit hard to find from the street and we spent a good 5 minutes walking up and down the sidewalk, iPhone in hand, trying to use Google Maps to figure out what building it was. Apparently they lost their street sign in the last hurricane, but once we got up to the door there was some lettering there that clued us in that we were at the right location. This seems to be a full-service salon that focuses mostly on ethnic hair. It had a full make-up display along with a make-up artist working on clients, lots of product for sale, nail techs in the back, a handful of salon chairs full of customers and a barber in the back room. Everyone was very friendly, everything was very clean, and most importantly my friend loved the work they did on her. Street parking is difficult along the stretch of Elysian Fields it is on and, although there is room to park right in front of the salon, that space fills quickly and you may get blocked in.
