First off, it's really disappointing to not be satisfied with a service. I had an appointment for a gel manicure. I've had them before at Earthsavers and been happy with how my nails turned out and even happier they looked nice for a long time. This time the manicure itself was decent. I was told the color I picked out was not gel and directed to the OPI section. I told the nail technician that I want the non-toxic. So she showed me which polish to choose. She said it would last 2 weeks. She also said during the manicure to tell the desk that I didn't have gel. At this point I asked why they aren't using the non-toxic gel products. They've previously advertised that they do offer that service. She said no, we don't have that. Then the other nail tech piped up and said the OPI gel does not have formaldehyde or toluene. Then I was frustrated because I could have gotten the gel after all. I had been looking forward to this and planning to get through the Christmas holidays without having to have repeated polishing, etc. the next day one nail already chipped, I ended up cutting it down. It is not like I was doing anything rough with my hands either. It is now the second day and I won't make it another day with decent nails as you can see by the photos. Very unhappy. Earthsavers do better and inform your nail techs properly. read more

Aahhh. Earthsavers should be called Lifesavers, except that the candy thing might throw some folks off. This is my go-to spot for spa services and has been for years. I can remember having a massage here a couple days prior to my wedding to calm my frazzled nerves - and I'm talking heavy duty stress relief. The massage therapists here always provide better than I could have imagined experiences. I'm always greeted and offered lemon water while I wait in their serene waiting area. The changing rooms are consistently clean and uncluttered. The rest room is spacious and spotless. They provide lockers for your belongings if you choose not to take them into the room with you. I do have a favorite service, and it's phenomenal. It's the honey almond treatment. Once you are tucked beneath the soft blankets on the warm table, you are scrubbed piece by piece with a delicious smelling honey almond paste and each area is covered up again before moving on to the next. And as if this wasn't enough pampering, you then take a warm shower, snuggle under clean blankets and your massage therapist returns to give you a brief massage. YEEEEESSSSSSS!!! It's a big time treat for me, and I only partake once or twice a year depending on how many gift cards I receive from the man of my dreams on special days like my birthday or Mother's Day. This Earthsavers is really nice because they have a lot of space and carry a great selection of products across multiple price ranges. One section of the store is a dedicated beauty bar. Another section is a great spa and the remainder of the store is dedicated to retail merchandise. The environment is definitely relaxed and spa like. Soft colors, lots of natural light and low spa music. I had a facial today with Whitney. The facial room was located upstairs and very quiet. Tit was the best facial I've had in a while. Naturally based products, cleansing with oils and creams. An excellent exfoliation and extraction process. Whitney gives a nice facial massage and it was extremely relaxing. I would highly recommend this store. My experience has been one of friendly customer service, not aloof existence like you find at other places in town (you know - where the staff walks off as you approach the register or disappears when you have a question). I was looking at a few things today and was politely told that if I had any questions please let them know - as the staff member walked by me. For me, that is the perfect level of attention. It isn t an interrogation and a hovering while you look- it's more of a "hey, I see you - I'm here if you need me" I'll definitely be back. I am physically disabled and walk with leg braces and crutches. I have a significant amount of pain at baseline, but this week my pain has been much worse, distractingly severe. This morning at work I got online to book a massage at Earthsavers in Metairie. When I arrived I was told that most of the massage rooms are upstairs and the few rooms downstairs are not available. Their first response was "we can help you up the stairs". I said "no. I am not doing that and should not have to do that". Their next response was "you have to let us know ahead of time to be scheduled downstairs". First, nowhere on their website did it say anything about accessibility. How would anyone know this? Second, that means because of my disability I have to call in advance to schedule. Able-bodied individuals have the luxury of booking a same-day massage online, but I'm not entitled to the same luxury simply because of my disability. Pretty messed up, right? In 2023 I should not have to call and verify accessibility for every business I visit. My disability should not take away my ability to book a same-day massage. I am absolutely disgusted at this business and their lack of accessibility as well as their carelessness towards people with disabilities. I beg y'all to avoid giving your business to this discriminatory establishment. Aside from appalled, I'm also devastated because I was really looking forward to an ounce of pain relief after a hard week working as a physician in the hospital. I burst into tears the second I got back in my car after walking out of earthsavers. Please boycott this antiquated and inequitable business and instead spend your money at businesses that cater to EVERYONE, regardless of disability. After all, that's the law. Aside from appalled it truly saddens me. I feel excluded and like a second class citizen, not able to access the same luxuries as everyone else. 25% of the world is disabled. Disability is the only minority group that any person can become part of at any point in their life. Let's hope none of these people ever have to feel the way I felt today walking out of earthsavers without the massage I so desperately need. UPDATE after response to my review: In response to the business owner's very scripted response: having ADA compliant rooms is only helpful if I have access to them when I book a same day massage online like everyone else. But that's not how it works at your establishment. I would have had to know that I needed to call ahead and schedule in advance in order to have access to these rooms. First how would I know that? But even if I did know that - that is still NOT EQUITABLE TREATMENT. I have every right to be able to book a same day massage online LIKE EVERY ABLE-BODIED CUSTOMER. That's the problem you're ignoring and failing to acknowledge. I walked out of your business feeling humiliated, worthless, and still in a great deal of pain thanks to y'all, and it's UNACCEPTABLE. I made an appointment for a facial with extractions and was quoted $95. The facialist did the creams and facial massage and extractions on forehead and face area and then proceeded to massage each arm and hand with cream for about 5-10 min. She told me my time was up and there was no time for chin extractions. I did not receive the complete facial and didn't ask for the arm and hand massage. I will not return and do not recommend the service. I will give her 2-3 stars as what she did was nice but definitely not complete for the hour I paid for. read more

I find it difficult to write a review for a place as such, just because every employee is different. I have been to this Earthsavers, for massages, three times and each experience is different. My first two times I was seen by the same woman who had previous experience in working with athletes. She was really rough during my massage and I left sore. My most recent experience was extremely pleasant and I left feeling restored. I recommend calling and asking the employees who they would suggest for what you are looking for in particular. The atmosphere is soothing and there is plenty to look at while you wait. Also, I received a little goodie bag with some samples when I left. I will likely be back because I am comfortable here. the atmosphere is bright and sunny for mani/pedi and very relaxing for massages in your private room. should have stricter no cell phone policy in waiting area since every time I go someone refuses to relax and continues handling business. The chairs in the waiting area need to be re-upholstered/replaced .My last two visits, the customers were behaving themself(not on phones, just relaxing,reading) but the workers at the check- in desk on the other side of the curtain were being very loud. :/ You can help yourself to either orange infused water or lemon infused. I also like the poem painted on the wall, it makes me feel good just like their motto. The only thing missing is champagne. And dont be late because it will be deducted from your service! I brought my grandmother for a mani and sure enough it only lasted about 10 min even though we waited in the front(not knowing to check in at the second desk) I have been requesting Weezie for over a year for my massages and she makes up for any negatives, its all ok afterward :) She has a great energy about her and is very attentive to any special needs/requests. There has been many times where I specifcally told them I cant have any perfumed lotions and they still used them and I also asked for more attn on my scalp and its been ignored but not Weezie, shes awesome and as long as shes there so am I. read more

It's taken me a while to be able to articulate the disappointment I feel about my recent earthsavers experience. For the past three years on my birthday my husband has purchased me a gift certificate to Earthsavers. The first year I had a wonderful massage and last year and this year he upped it to the full "day of relaxation" 4.5 hours that includes facial, massage, mani, pedi and even lunch and makeup touch up. Last year I had no trouble swapping out the mani and pedi (I go to my local salon religiously and had no desire to "cheat" on them) This year I called to schedule and substitute services and was met with so much resistance and lack of assistance by the receptionist I considered calling back on a different day to schedule with someone less difficult. When I explained to her what I wanted to do she let me know that all services had gone up in price since the gift certificate had been purchased, I'm sure my husband would've loved a heads up and he would've paid for the new prices, and that I could use the remaining balance for the mani and pedi "another day" or "for products" I multiple times said I wanted a full day of service, like the package offers but to change services, something I did with zero issue last year. She again tried to suggest I use the remaining balance for products. No. I ultimately extended my massage and did an add on to my facial. No lunch, no makeup touch up, no day of relaxation as intended. My true issue here lies with the facility and their customer service which has over the years slipped away to nothing. As they try harder and harder to become a retail store the "spa like atmosphere" has been completely lost. Once I arrived and checked in I was not offered a robe like last year but asked to sit in the waiting room where I got to over hear the chatty receptionists conversations as well as the ladies getting their nails done. This actually continued during my massage where I was constantly bombarded, even in my service room by the loud cracking of nail clippers, conversations and the flapping of flip flops on the floor. The massage and facial were fine but again really nothing spectacular. I had to get dressed after the massage and check back in at the receptionist desk to make sure they even had put me down for the facial. An employee continually walked through holding a small dog which bothered me on many levels both sanitary and professional. The experience has left me beyond disappointed and in search of a new spa to experience what I once could count on Earth Savers for. I've heard great things about Woodhouse Day Spa and will be giving them a try in the near future Just as an update, was never contacted by management regarding my experience. read more

My favorite experience happened yesterday with Ashlyn. Not only was she friendly, she went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and to adapt to meet my needs. The manager contacted my wife the next day after she had issues for her De-Stress package. My wife explained what happened and Mandy, the manager was extremely helpful and understanding. She rectified the situation and my wife will be going back on Monday to get the other services, feet reflexology and scalp massage. My wife told me to change the review immediately after hanging up the phone and give a better rating as a result of Mandy's services and her method of listening to the situation and working to resolve the problems. I'm not one to leave scathing reviews, but I felt the need to leave a review for Earthsavers after giving it too many chances. Buckle in because it's a long ride that covers all my grievances from the past few visits (all of which I've mentioned in store and have never been addressed, mind you). Let's start off with the atmosphere & cleanliness: Earthsavers tries to market themselves as a relaxing oasis, but in actuality, you will hear the incessantly loud chatter of the staff, carts of merchandise being pushed to the retail area, and the ring of unanswered phone calls. I was once in the retail area when a dog kept barking...from what I overheard, it seemed to have been an employees very misbehaved dog & it seems to be a frequent occurence. Sidenote: seeing a dog allowed to roam a spa made me wonder how sanitary the spa really is since fur/dander can get everywhere. I've already noticed during services how towels have a slight mildewy smell, so the possibility certainly isn't crazy. The decor is outdated and cramped for the amount of money they expect you to pay. Next, let's talk about the retail and spa staff. I don't know what they pay their employees, but the apathy from the staff (including managers) is amazing. It's like pulling teeth to get detailed help if you dare disturb them from whatever Pinterest board is catching their eye at the moment. The managers are no better and take forever to get out front when one of their employees lack the skills to answer your questions. There's no warmth found with staff interactions like they used to have years ago, especially since the stafff seems to change every time I'm in, and I'm not the only person who has noticed. Finally, let's talk about the services/service prices. Facials are average for the high price and massage attentiveness is varied. Both aren't worth smelling mildew when face down on the sheets/getting a hot towel on your face when it's supposed to be cleansed. The nail prices are outrageous for what you get in a service...if you're lucky enough, you'll get an attentive nail lady, but if you're not--well, have fun listening to their conversations since some will rarely engage you in a convo. The gel they market is laughably bad...I've had gel manicures here when the polish didn't cure, I brought it up to the tech, and she brushed me off. That's what a $55 service is expected to be? This part about services deserved its own paragraph. Namely, the company pushing fads as services makes me uncomfortable--why try to push a detox or keto diet? Detox happens naturally with your own body and keto is for a specific type of person, but they tried to market it for everyone. It all seems like a blatant cash grab. Maybe get staff who is educated in Metagenics before trying to get people to buy it. Speaking of, what happened to the on staff dietitian being marketed as recently as March on Instagram? Invest in staff education like you try to present on your social media instead of wasting money with "influencers" who clearly don't know what they're pushing & only there for exposure and incentive. I guess they care more about making money and having a false image rather than being a true help for clients. All in all, don't visit Earthsavers. Apathy and lackluster services in an outdated, questionably clean environment isn't worth your money or time. read more

I scheduled a "Day of Relaxation" for my birthday and had the best day ever!!!!! The staff was very friendly when I came in and immediately got me a robe and water- I already felt transported to an oasis! The day included a 50 minute full body massage with essential oils, which was so relaxing and I appreciated my massage therapist checking in about pressure and areas of focus but allowing me to silently relax. Then I went to my 50 minute facial, which was very rejuvenating. After asking my about my skincare habits and concerns, she crafted a facial to really meet my needs. It felt amazing and I left with some recommendations for skincare products. Then I had a delicious blackened shrimp salad for lunch (they had so many options to choose from!) and an iced tea in my robe in a relaxing room. After that, I changed back into my clothes and received a manicure and pedicure, both relaxing and I was so excited that together they lasted about an hour and a half. Overall, the day was so worth it!! For $250 I was receiving care and services from 11:00-3:30 (with lunch!) and felt so pampered. I would absolutely recommend the day of relaxing to anyone looking to really treat themselves or as a gift to a mom/daughter/friend, and I will absolutely be back for one off treatments. read more

When a friend suggests that you need some relaxing, spontaneous "me" time, you take it. That's how I ended up at Earthsavers randomly in the middle of the week for a massage. I've had massages before, although I'm no expert, I just never think about going to get one or spending the money to pamper myself at a place like this. I got the 50 minute massage for $75 (plus tip). Shannon was my massage therapist and she was really nice and did a great job. The lotions smelled good. The rooms were nice and clean. The music wasn't distracting. The atmosphere of the whole place is nice. It's fresh and clean without being too snooty and uppity. The store in the front has some fun items. Most are overpriced, but you'll have that at most spas. I'd definitely return in the future, just maybe not so spontaneously. read more

I've come here 5 or 6 times now for various services (wax, mani, pedi, facial, massage) I don't ask for anyone special because every time I have gone I haven't had a bad experience so they've earned my trust that they keep a good staff. I am a repeat customer for waxing, they know how to make you as comfortable as possible. I recommend the purple wax, its $10 more but worth it. I have only gotten one facial and massage here and I will definitely be back. Both were great and so relaxing. I left with my skin aglow and feeling like I was walking on a cloud. The one thing I would skip here is the mani and pedi. It's just way more expensive than any other place and I didn't think they did anything extra special to validate the extra cost. The tech was professional and my nails came out great so nothing against the nail tech who did the service. I guess if you are at a spa you will pay spa prices. I would have just thought it would have been more private or serene. Heads up, the stuff in their retail store can be a bit over priced. I bought moroccan oil hair spray and later saw it at my hair salon for $2 cheaper. It's not much, but it makes me wonder how much their actual mark up is. read more

Not sure why this place is getting bad reviews. I treat myself to facials, manis, pedis, and waxing services here quite often. I will say that I prefer the Magazine location because you can often get a same day appointment there and here it takes a few days, but the services are always amazing. I have had many different people over the years perform the services, and I can honestly say that they were all great. The front desk people can sometimes be a pain in the ass, and a little snooty, but I don't judge the place by them, I judge by how I feel when I leave and it's ALWAYS good. Hmmmm... feeling like this body might need a little pampering now that I think about it. 4 stars because I've only tried the smoothies and none of the services. Tried the green smoothie and the simple smoothie. I normally wouldn't drink any of the green health drinks, but their green smoothie was actually pretty tasty. No signs of pulp or griddyness. The simple smoothie could be made with mangos or strawberries. I had the strawberries, and it was delicious! I'm not fond of yogurt, but you could barely taste it so I finished the entire cup! Sooo.....I was kind of excited to go here. I was given gift vouchers months ago and finally got around to using them today. My appointment was for 11am and they sent me an email telling me to get there 15 minutes early so that I would "have time to relax". I guess they meant relax outside since they didn't unlock their doors till 11am I started with the threading. The lady was nice. She was Persian and didn't speak much English. I can't rate it much as this was my first experience of threading. I'm not sure I'll do it again. I consider myself quite tough but this made me cry like a baby. I Don't like the area they have set up for this. It's at the top of the stairs in something like a dentists chair and other customers have to walk past you to get to and from other rooms. Not much privacy. Next I had the 20/20/20 which was very relaxing and I would definitely have again. I'm sure there's better places than this so I'll be checking out alternatives read more

What a disappointment! I received a gift certificate from my husband as a birthday gift for $150.00. I made an appointment for a massage on the website. Somehow I thought the appointment was the following day. I was called 10 minutes into the appointment and was told I was being billed the entire $160.00. I explained to Molly the store manager that I thought the appointment was the following day and it would be nice to have received a reminder call for the appointment. She said they have 40 customers per day and are far to busy to make a phone call reminder to each customer. I prefer a higher level of service. My credit card was billed for the session. I phoned back to speak to Molly to use my gift certificate because of course at this point I have no desire to ever return. I was placed on hold for several minutes and was told "she is busy". Anyway be cautious when booking appointments and don't look for exceptional customer service. It won't be found! read more

Where do I even begin? Originally went here because I had a gift Certificate paid for two of the most expensive and terrible massages of my life. After my massage I required two trips to the chiropractor to work out whatever the h*** they did to me. My boyfriend needed a cortisone shot after the outbreak of whatever the they put on his face during the facial. At the time of my 1st appointment I had stupidly Made an appointment for micro derma abrasion Which I canceled twice 4 days before the appointment. Apparently they can't take no for an answer used my credit card that I had given them for my previous appointment and charged me a $300 Cancelation fee. After calling 3 times leaving 3 messages for a spa manager that never called me back, and being hung up on 4 times. I finally got ahold of a general manager who magnanimously decided to credit my account $130 instead of the $300 they charged me without my permission, as if I would ever use this place again. Absolutely rude terrible place buyer beware Responding to comment below I actually wasnt informed who was calling and thought it was my restaurant reservation calling because your highly untrained people didn't bother to identify themselves when they called and the only reservation I knew of was my restaurant. But a really excellent lie good job. I have let your corporate office know about your highly unethical and abusive behavior at that location however. So hopefully they can hire better managers and perhaps train your employees read more

I've told anyone who would listen to me to go see Andrey. I had let myself get beyond depleted emotionally and physically and decided it was time for a massage. He really worked my high stress areas. There was an extremely painful point where I think I was fighting it but then I let out a deep sigh. And just like that I had let it all go. I truly feel like he opened my heart chakra and i finally let go of harmful emotions. I feel like a care bear explosion of light permeating and more importantly I feel open again. Earthsavers is a little slice of heaven in Metairie. I have come here for facials, massages and mani/pedis. The massages and facials have always been worth the money. The women that have done the massage and facial services have all been professional and really good at their job. They offered great advice without being pushy on their products. I also appreciate the generous samples of products they give, since what they carry in store can be super pricey and would want to try it out a couple of times before buying. I always leave from these services with stress relieved and refreshed skin. Manicures and pedicures here, in my opinion, are not worth the price. The atmosphere in this area is not that relaxing/special and the women that did my nails were not that friendly. I will stick to my regular nail spot. All in all, Earthsavers is a great place for a relaxing massage or facial. Perfect place to unwind and spend some "me" time! read more
