This store is always so crazy busy !!! Gives me anxiety lol but that's not there fault they are just popular . There is deff enough staff for the volume of customers so I like that . Oh yes! I stopped in here for one reason and one reason only: their beautiful stock of all the Yves Saint Laurent makeup you can handle! I was greeted when I entered the store, but I didn't need any help- I knew exactly where I was going. Yves Saint Laurent makes the most luxourious makeup that you can find and I think that this Sephora is the only place in our area that carries the full line (correct me if I'm wrong!). I treated myself to some yummy red lipsticks and a few of the eye shadow palettes they have. This stuff isn't cheap: lipsticks are $36 each and the small palettes are $60 each. I decided to treat myself because I love this line so much and it wears beautifully. Sephora is great because they offer a lot of different brands that range in price from cheap to a little more "spendy". They have a SPECTACULAR Christian Louboutin lipstick that I pretty much need, but I'm going to wait a bit before I go and drop $90 on a lipstick. The women who work here are always friendly and eager to help, and if you are ignorant about makeup they will guide you in the right direction and find something that works well for you. read more

I go out of my way to visit this Sephora location, even though the one on N Peters is within walking distance to me. The employees at this location are so sweet and helpful. Even though it's usually pretty busy in the store, the line always moves quickly and they're really good about reminding you of the samples your eligible for and giving you a few with your purchase. Also, the store's always well stocked and has what I come in for, unlike the Sephora in the FQ. read more

I usually frequent Sephora for my Anastasia brow products, powder and perfume. After the last three visits to this location I've made the personal decision to not shop with this establishment anymore. This last time I walked in wanting to get a good primer that wasn't going to cost me more than $20. The store was relatively void of customers because I went around 1pm on a weekday. I looked around hoping someone would at least greet me as I walked in the store. I counted 6 different people including the employee behind the register. One of my biggest pet peeves during any shopping experience is not being acknowledged when I walk into an establishment. Doing this ensures that your guest knows if they need anything you're there and it lets them also know that "hey I see you"! I walked around some more looking at products and wasn't asked if I needed help. However a lady that was standing about three feet away from me got help from a young woman even so she had to pass by me to get to her. Finally after about 15 minutes of playing this "game", a woman in all black (I'm assuming she was a higher up) came and asked me if I needed any assistance. I told her what I was looking for and she immediately led me to a store brand primer and showed me other products slightly higher than what I was looking for. I thanked her and proceeded to the register. I left vowing never to shop here again and I meant it. I'll gladly go to the department stores now to get my refill of Flower Bomb/Marc Jacobs perfume, and anything else I need is available at ULTA where I'm not treated like a nuisance. read more

For someone who runs a blog about supporting local businesses, it is kind of embarrassing how addicted I am to this corporate conglomerate. In the immortal words of Selena Gomez, that's the price of beauty. This location is the primary attraction at Lakeside Mall, in my opinion. The location is medium sized, as Sephoras go, but with a large and varied selection. The back of the store is skin care, the front is makeup. The left side wall is fragrances; don't forget to use the cool in-wall touch screen computer to recommend scents (are you into floral? fruity? the only way it could be better is if the machine itself puffed out its recommendation at you). They carry the standard Sephora brands, although if something catches your eye online and you don't want to spend money for shipping, I *believe* it's possible to have something ordered through the store. The main reason this store gets 5 stars is because the majority of the staff is SUPER nice and helpful, much more so than some of the snotty employees I have encountered in New York or Los Angeles. Sure, there are a few trolls to be avoided, but when you frequent a particular location as often I do, you learn quickly which to steer clear of. I find the women in skincare to be the most interested in helping you find that perfect moisturizer or serum (and of course, providing you with free samples!). Not that I don't love a good primer or eyeshadow recommendation, but let's be clear: the draw here for me is skincare--good skin means that even with just sunscreen on, you get compliments. I also love their rewards program, which I primarily use to redeem beauty samples (it's much harder to get a sample of say, a lip pencil, than it is to get one of a cleanser). They do send a lot of emails, but at least once a month, it's for something freeee (without purchase!), which is worth the effort of deleting spam here and there. read more

I love this place because it's bright, well staffed, contains everything you need to feel pretty, oh so pretty! The sales associates are not aggressive, they are very informative and willing to assist. The rewards program is nice and you get a free gift on your birthday. This is a great place to buy a gift card for the woman who has it all and is hard to shop for...more than cosmetics, you can find make up accessories, soaps, cleansers, hair products and skincare products. There are also several men's products for the groomer in your life. My only issue with this place is the check out line. There is a zig zag area that is lined with small products to encourage impulse buying, however, this tends to slow the line down at times. read more

Normally I hate going to the mall, ESPECIALLY Lakeside. It's always crowded, I can never find parking, and when you get inside no one appears to me shopping! They just seem to by wandering around the food court in aimless circles. So believe me I dreaded having to pick up new make up when my beloved clay based make up ran out! I walked in to a sea of mad women demanding free samples from all the the employees I saw on the floor...That's when I spotted Jenn restocking product. I felt terrible bothering her, but she had it seem like it was no thang! I described my make-up for her...turns out they didn't make it any more. I was crushed. I think she saw the look of disappointed look on my face because she immediately suggest another clay base make-up called "Tarte." We picked a shade that would match my super pale complexion, which is often very difficult to find...I loved the new make up right away! AND to find they even made compressed powders made my day! I don't think this review even does her justice, but Jenn was extraordinarily helpful! I wish everyone had her level of customer service! read more

This place was a huge disappointment. The customer service was horrible. I have no idea why because there were employees everywhere. I came in with my daughter to get her some foundation. When I finally got the attention of a sales girl she was rude. The Fenty foundation my daughter wanted had a bare shelf. Plenty of product samples to try but 40% of the product to buy was gone. The sales girl rudely told me it was not the employees "choice" to not have product. I guess she was implying Sephora just sucked. I will trade in my Walmart Sephora experience and go back to the Department store where I am waiting on with a smile and none of the attitude. read more

Sephora can be a confusing maze for someone with a simple makeup routine like myself. I normally just grab what I need and get out because it's a little overwhelming. I walked in this location to stock up on foundation and highlighter, and Cassie was awesome assisting me!! She color-matched me, brought me to the section that had the brand I wanted, and applied the product to make sure I was leaving completely satisfied with the shade. She also suggested Becca Moonshine highlight for my lighter skin-tone. I was so impressed with her sweet, un-hurried, demeanor and personable customer service! I have become totally internet dependent for my shopping. Amazon Prime, Instacart, Grubhub, Ebay. I have come to have slight anxiety about shopping on a regular basis. So you can only imagine the anguish I was going through knowing that I had to go TO THE MALL. AT CHRISTMAS TIME. Luckily (or so I thought) I had already created a list online and was going to just point to the items and have someone show me. ((Insert side-eye here. Idealistic, right?). So at 6:30pm I battle traffic (don't these people want to go home?!?), made a couple illegal turns, and find my way to Sephora. It was busy, of course, but 3 people helped me find various items. Sadly, not one of the items on my e-cart were in stock. I get to the register, and the cashier asks if I found everything okay. I said "Yes, oh...I just forgot about a perfume that I mam fascinated with...Chloe!" She actually LEFT the register area and took me to the perfume section!! I loved that. It made me feel extra special. She sprayed a couple of the different variations until I found the one I thought was right. She filled a sample for me, then took me back to the register to complete my purchase. I did not feel stalked, I did not feel ignored, I did not feel pressured. Yes New Orleans/Metairie area has finally received a store the rest of the world has known for quite some time. One of the great things about Sephora is the ability to test almost every product in the store. The service is better than some of the other counters in Lakeside. They carry a lot of brands that we would not have the ability to get else where for lack of that brand not having a counter here, or any other store selling it. I personally find this particular Sephora to be very small and under-stocked. SOME of the employees are nice and the others are just plain snobs. I have been to many Sephora's in other states and this one fails in comparison in a lot of ways. First, it's soooo small. Second, it really doesn't have that many products in it. Third, the staff here should attend a customer service lecture because some of them really need it! If I am in a pinch and need a MAC eyeshadow or LipGlass, I will go here but I don't frequent this store. read more

I went into this particular Sephora while on vacation, looking for "a new scent." Yes, I was "one of those" customers. I was bored with the scents I had and wanted something new, but I didn't really know what. Ariel and Teesha, the perfume specialists on that afternoon, were SUPER patient and helpful. They helped me with everything starting with the little computer thingy on the wall. Don't underestimate that thing...it knew my taste better than I did. After about 30 minutes of consultation, Teesha ended up sending me home with 3 samples...1 I really liked, 1 I was indifferent about but took her word for, and one I wasn't all that excited about but was tired and just took what she gave me. Well, as it turned out, I ended up NOT liking the one I thought was my favorite, REALLY not liking the one I was indifferent about and LOVING the one I hated in the store. I've been to Sephora locations all over the USA and even in Hawaii and I have to say that I'm absolutely impressed with Lisa. I can't say anything about the availability of products or the friendliness of any other associates since I didn't really come here to shop. I just came for a Personal Beauty Consultation for getting my makeup done for a Mardi Gras Ball. I have to admit that free makeup is probably my favorite and most utilized perk of being a VIB Rouge. Immediately, Lisa asked me whether I'd like a bottle of water. Why, yes! I was so severely dehydrated from partying till morning hours from the night before. And she replenished it for me when I was done. The best thing that I LOVED about Lisa was that she really listened to me and understood EXACTLY what I wanted. I've gotten plenty of free makeups done at Sephora before but Lisa knew exactly what I was going for and worked her magic. In short, I asked for a not-too-heavy makeup with a focus on making my skin appear radiant and dewy. I wanted to focus on my eyes and add a pretty color to the lips. Lisa started by checking my foundation color match with one of those skin IQ thingies. Then she went and brought a basketful of goodies back, all of which looked flawless on me. She took her time to really do an amazing job. It was never boring. I never felt like I wished she'd hurry up or that she was going too fast, it was amazingly paced. I was hesitant to try fake eyelashes since I have never gotten them before and Lisa offered to apply them on me if I'd like. For $10 for fake eyelashes, I was sold considering that just the application alone at Ulta costs $15 (what a sham!). The BEST thing that I loved was that Lisa didn't try to sell me everything she applied on me. In the end, I ended up getting fake eyelashes ($10) and Urban Decay lipcolor that she used on me. I didn't even have to checkout! She took care of everything for me. I literally sat in a chair for an hour and half and was pampered the entire time. I wished I lived in Metairie so I could come get my makeup done by Lisa everyday! read more

I love Sephora! I'm not usually much of a mall shopper, but it's worth wading through the masses to get to Sephora. I've been to the store in many other cities, but ours is really different. Every time I go, which is about once a week, the sales associates are wonderful, friendly, and helpful. They carry so many great brands, Josie Maran, Kat Von D, Tokidoki, Tarte, Urban Decay...that you just can't find anywhere else that I know of in New Orleans. I love that they will let you sample anything. lat week they gave me a huge sample of a great eyeshadow primer. Just ask for anything you want to try. Really! My only drawback is personal: Each time I shop there I spend almost exactly $98. Weird, but such is the price of beauty. Fabulous store. read more

Ehh not so much a fan of the store. I like the products, the return policy and some of the employees but this place is always hectic and understaffed. I booked an appointment to get my makeup done before a play and had some issues with the service. I won't go into too much of that because the employees were trying their best but even they said they were understaffed and you could see they were overwhelmed. My make up appointment didn't start on time and was frequently interrupted by my artist having to help other customers. I had to remind the artist to do some parts of my make up at the end such as putting on eyeliner. Overall it was a mess but the girl was sweet and did her best. She helped my little one put on some red lipstick and I got compliments on my eyebrows that night so it wasn't the worst thing but I'll probably get my make up done at MAC next time, unless someone knows somewhere better. read more
