I had a good Wiezen beer and I ordered the special which was a Feldsalat, Turkey Rolls with mashed potatoes and a homemade turkey gravy. The Feldsalat had bacon strip crumbles, bacon vinaigrette dressing and homemade croutons that were straight from the oven and still hot. So good! In almost all of my interactions with German restaurateurs, it's implicit that we will be Deutschsprechening, but the owner seamlessly switched between Oberpfälzer and English when speaking to my husband and me. It wasn't necessary, but he certainly made me feel incredibly welcomed. After being warmly greeted, we found a table. Talk about a beautifully appointed restaurant that, despite its clean and modern orientation, retains the rustic ambiance of Bavaria. The brasserie faces a beautiful bar. Fun fact: the interior floor-to-ceiling window gives patrons a unique and stunning view into the neighboring Mini Cooper Dealership, which houses an über vintage, Austin Powers-era Mini (Union Jack paint job not included). And the menus are super creative -- they are unlike any other menu I've ever seen, and they are printed in both English and Deutsch.
