Amazing food and service. I had the homemade cheese noodles which were creamy and delicious. Husband had the Schäufele", or the pig's scapula. Which looked so good I had to help him eat it. This was the show stopper for me. The meat was "fall off the bone" tender and the pork rind was crispy delicious. Don't like beer? Try one anyway. I tried a lemon beer that was surprisingly refreshing. I have got to squeeze in another trip to eat here before I leave the area. read more

Great place if your in the area. Seems to be open more than most . Food and Beer are as expected!

I was starving so my food was amazing. I am thankful they are open on Sunday!! I asked for English and got a menu that included most of the German options so there is that. I asked for warm apple Strudel to go. You would think that my English would tip them that I'm at a hotel?? I got to the hotel to get a cold apple pie in freezer sealed package with no utensils, no way to open my apple pie and no microwave to get my "warm apple strudel." And now no open dinner. read more

Food and service were excellent. I had the Pork steak with fried onions and potatoes. It was all fantastic. For dessert it was the apple streusel and the apple pancakes. Both were great but the pancakes are definitely the way to go. read more

I had the ribs and pork mixed grill. Ribs were delicious. They make their own beer: they have six on tap and they are all reasonably priced. The staff speaks English and they have menus in English. a check out the menu fir four people I attached. Would love to try that! read more

Schloderer is one of the many breweries / brew pubs in Amberg. If you get lost, just look for the Horse logo. This is tucked in on the left hand side of the street and sports two floors and an outdoor eatery. The staff s very friendly and speaks English. I highly recommend the Schnitzel and Dunkel beer. This has a very nice outdoor ambienmce and is perfect for drinking a beer on a late September evening. read more

Very nice choice in Amberg! One thing to note up front is that this is in a pedestrian-only zone, so don't try to drive to the street address. There is a municipal parking garage at Kaiser-Ludwig-Ring 2, across from the train station, and the walk from there is just a couple hundred meters. Service was friendly, and they do have English menus available, just ask. This seems to be a brewery as well, but it was a little too early in the day for beers so I can't vouch for the beer. I can, however, vouch for the food, which was excellent. My schweineschnitzel "Hofmeister-Art" was excellent; the bacon on top was cooked perfectly, and the pork medallion was tender and delicious. The potato croquettes didn't seem to be house-made, but they were perfectly fine. My colleague demolished his brauhausschnitzel, and raved about it the whole time, so that would also be a solid bet. I'd also recommend the side salad - a basic salad for €2,30 but it was nice to have it to cut the rich entrees. read more

This is our go to place when wanting to get together with friends in amberg. The food, service, and ambience is always on par with German dining. The restaurant is centrally located on the fuss ganger strasse leading up to the marktplatz. The restaurant serves it own beer from its on site brewery. I always get the flammkuchen. They have one of the best i have eaten in germany. There is seating available for large groups with a reservation. read more

Amazing choice for my first dinner in Amberg. The beer was almost as delicious as the food. I got the wild boar with dumpling and red cabbage and everything was satisfying, especially for a cold November night. Their spaetzel and goulash my friend got is also delicious; I will be back to check out the rest of the menu very soon! read more

Love this place! Offers English menus and the food and atmosphere is wonderful! A place to come and celebrate. Rumpsteak, fries and creamy mushroom sauce is my top pick with beer of course. This tucked away gem with outdoor covered seating so go through the archway. This is a perfect way to enjoy true German culture. The prices are average. read more

Hi all, I've been here a couple times and I can definitely say it's edible. I got the rib eye yesterday, and although a little gamey, it was cooked correctly. The schnitzel my wife had was a little pale and the pork lendchen my mother got was uncooked. Not the best, but not the worst. If you have time and energy, try a better place. read more

Came for a lunch break while walking around the Christmas market. Had the goulash soup and brauhausschnitzel which was a breaded schnitzel with a white mushroom sauce. A side of Spaetle and a dunkel and I was ready to brave the snow and cold for more outdoor shopping. A must stop if you're in the area. read more

Schloderer was a great casual restaurant with good beer. The atmosphere was really neat with the bars and the brewing equipment all decked out in copper. The gulashsuppe was very good and even better dipping bread into it and eating the bread. read more
