Tokyo Season is the best quality and best value sushi restaurant in Manchester. It also does other…read moredelicious authentic Japanese dishes, but lets talk about sushi... Their menu is extensive, with over 100 variations, and they also have a half price sushi menu, available anytime until 10pm. This consists of about 20 dishes, including some of the best sushi I have ever tasted. You need to have the salmon and tuna sushi, which is £1.60 for two pieces! Also good is the sweet shrimp and king prawn, for only £2. The salmon roe is more expensive, but still cheaper than anywhere else. The fish is the freshest possible and comes served on an authentic Japanese platter with a compartment for soy sauce, wasabi and ginger. You can afford to keep ordering, which is exactly what I do on every visit. The restaurant is smart, and feels much posher than most of the places in the oriental area of Manchester, which it is on the border of. The prices though are unaffected as its one of the cheapest around. It's a very professional place and would be suitable for anything from business lunches to parties. You will be served by very pretty waitresses in beautiful oriental dress and treated to some Japanese pop music videos on their DVD player. Japanese art lines the walls. This place is really worth a visit, and deserves my third 5 star rating, its one of my favourite places ever, let alone in Manchester.

I've been here so many times in one week that I've exhausted the menu! The atmosphere is great…read more .there are even private quarters where you can slide some paper doors to segregate yourself off from the main dining area.. As for the food..they offer a very good cheap and cheerful sushi menu with high quality tuna sashimi..and some really good ramen dishes... The plum wine (which we drank the restaurant dry on) is tasty but pricey starting from £22 a bottle. .but to be fair it probably costs them a lot just too import it. The sake is a cheaper option from half flasks from £5 . I would recommend this place for someone who wants a change from cheap sushi places such as wasabi..oh and the sushi is half price if you pay by cash!

We were sat next door to Tampopo so it was the obvious choice. We were seated straight away and considering it was half 9 it was relatively busy! We were served by a devil (halloween themed) and considering the outfit the server was lovely. We ordered a bottle of fizz and a coke, the soft drink did get lost on route however was soon rectified. I opted for the duck dumplings to start and pitting them against Wagamamas own I was left slightly disappointed. The dumplings had a sticky texture and weren't quite full to the brim with duck and didn't have much of a taste alone but needed a good dip in the soy sauce to add flavour. For my main I opted for the chicken katsu curry (I was hungry!) It arrived promptly and was a super tasty combo of sticky rice, deep fried chicken with a mild curry sauce. I would say it was on par with Wagamamas version even served with the same side salad topped with ginger. I wouldn't come here for a special occasion but its perfect for a quick and reasonable dinner!

Arrived in Manchester and upon arrival our son wanted to eat here after seeing "Ramen" on the menu…read more Fine. Went down several flights of stairs, cute, at the time quiet atmosphere, seated straightaway. The staff were really nice, especially the lady that closed our ticket. She was a hoot and sharing with our son how he should be a Manchester "United" fab vs "City". Ordered several different things to try since it was our 1st time, most reviews seem old and not good. So let's get into it: 1st up: Duck Gyoza: fried very crispy with a side of cherry hoisin sauce. The meat was pretty tender. Was it good, yes, would I personally order again, no. I like the steamed gyoza better for me. 2nd: The Hot Honey Fried Chicken (Teriyaki flavor). Chicken coated in hot honey + teriyaki sauce. Topped with mixed pickles and served with a zesty vegan mayo on the side. Let me clear my throat, this right is my kinda food. Th meat was tender, spicy, sweet and savory all at the same dang time. In fact, we ordered a 2nd order. This was a table hit!!! 3rd: Bang, Bang Cauliflower. Hear me when I say,SPICY!!! Good but SPICY, my husband loved this so much he ordered a 2nd serving. 4th: The reason we came, our son's request (11may I add). shirodashi pork belly ramen slow-cooked pork belly drizzled with korean barbecue sauce + ramen noodles in a rich chicken broth. pea shoots. menma. wakame. spring onion. half a tea-stained egg. To our surprise, he tore into this bowl!! He will likely eat most foods kids his age doesn't eat but he didn't shy away from any of the ingredients, I was taken aback when he bit into the egg!! As for mom tax on his food, the noodles could have been a bit softer (cooked longer). The flavor was pretty good. Not saying I need to order my own but glad he enjoyed it!! We had water, him a Sprite, happy about the Zero Sugar but wish it was fountain vs. can. All in all pretty decent meal, pricing was okay for the amount of food, I guess. . I'd say, if you've never eaten at a WagaMama, give it a try. Hope this review helped inspire you!!

Plenty of vegan options available and 9 different fresh juices. I used to enjoy Wagamama at least once a month when I lived in The Netherlands. Now on trips to Europe, if I see it I go. For beverage I tried the Lychee Mule, 5/5 solid and would order another one, actually I did! The bang bang cauliflower has a little lingering kick but you can always add more spice 4/5. The tori kara age was very crispy and good dipped in the soy 3/5. Chicken steamed gyoza was average but filling 3/5. Overall a quick solid meal where I got to sample a few menu items instead of getting my usual steak bulgogi, pad Thai or chicken katsu curry.

Having been to a party in town and not exactly full after the odd canape I decided to try and grab a quick bite on Deansgate before jumping in my taxi. I was pretty shocked to see the vast majority of places such as barburrito shut on a Weds night at 10pm and went with Rice for convenience. Their Jambalaya caught my attention and I asked how long it would take - 3 minutes (with my taxi saying they'd be there in 5 mins) so this ticked the right box. They were right about the timing but God, what an awful box of awfulness! It probably doesn't help that I consider myself the rice king by regularly cooking my trademark risottos, paellas and my own jambalaya at home but this was just a box of rice with no taste, shriveled up meat, uncooked peppers and onions - of dear! I was still hungry but decided to bin the 2nd half of my Rice box, mental note to self - don't settle for convenience over quality again!
