Popular spot for teens & adults. Hubby & I decided to improve ourselves this year and joined UFC since 24 Hour Fitness had a poor parking situation. I was matched up with coach Lawrence and he's been awesome in helping me get back on track with my balance and strength training. He encourages you to do more but also supports you so you don't feel down when you can't do that extra "one". He'll sneak in that "one" after a short break. Hahaha!! I feel stronger and motivated to work out more.

But I wish this location would do a better job with upgrading the Speakers in their Fitness room. For a few months the speakers are either blown out or won't connect at all it's very irritating when you're taking Zumba, Cycling, or Body Pump and everything just cuts out. Majority of the free weights in the room, the plastic is cracked off which I've gotten cut by. I also wish they could enforce Guest watching their kids during class to not sit on the equipment as their are others that actively want to use the machine especially during peak hours. But overall it is a great gym and the Staff is absolutely incredible and welcoming, It's very clean and they have a great Armbar that's well stocked.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to belly dance? Do you like dancing to middle eastern music,…read moreShakira, etc.? Do you wanna feel super-sexy and have fun getting in shape at the same time? Then Shimmy Fitness is just for you! The Shimmy Fitness instructor, Malia, will teach you how to pop those hips, shimmy those hip scarves, undulate that stomach, and move that veil. You'll be sweating and feeling great in no time. By the next day, you should definitely be feeling the ache. But that's a good thing! The class style is that of a monkey see monkey do kind. She starts the music, shows you some moves, and you follow her lead. She'll take you through the basic moves for that song, and then she'll step it up a notch by doing it all in one movement and perhaps a little faster. One of my favorite parts is when we get to dance with the veils. No, it's not like a wedding veil, it's more like a super-thin drape that you get to dance with. The veil-dancing will definitely work out those arms. You'll be wishing you were back to only hip movements! But then again, once you see your toned arms, you'll be glad you get to dance with a drape! Individual hour-long classes are $15 each, while a Shimmy Pass with 4 classes on it is $50. You get your first class for free either from checking in on Yelp, or going to the Shimmy Fitness website: http://www.shimmy-fitness.com/Shimmy_Fitness/FREE_1st_class.html, or by just calling up Malia and asking her about it. If it's your first time going then arrive 10 minutes prior to class so you will have time to register. When you do decide if you would like to buy a pass, Malia accepts credit cards, cash, or check. Aerobic shoes/dance shoes are allowed, but so are bare feet. Wear cool, comfortable workout clothing, bring a water bottle, and get ready to sweat! Yelp365-#020/365

If you're looking for a PERSONALIZED trainer to get you in better shape and a healthier lifestyle…read moreGifted N Fitted is a great place to start. Coach Taz is a Top Tier trainer with the knowledge to get you where you need to go in your fitness journey. His approach of "each client is different" is great because it targets YOUR specific needs. His gym is conveniently located right off of the freeway so very easy to find. He keeps hand sanitizer at the door and is constantly disinfecting the workout equipment as you go so you know it's clean. He also gives his clients nutritional knowledge so that we can be aware of what we eat as well (which is awesome) Since coming to Gifted N Fitted the pounds have literally been melting off! Highly recommend!

From initially inquiring about personal training, Coach Taz was professional and prompt to respond and called me to review my goals and to see what would be a good fit for me and my boyfriend. He recommended the 3x/week hourly sessions with him as well as nutritional education. One of the good things about Gifted N Fitted was the fact that I could go on a payment plan; something that 24 hour fitness was unable to offer me in the past. The price is very reasonable, especially when comparing to other personal trainers at big gyms; the payment plan definitely helped me get started with my weight loss journey while not breaking my wallet! During the workouts, Coach Taz explains each exercise and is so encouraging throughout, even when I may feel like giving up, he's right there saying "10 more seconds! You can do it! You can do anything in 10 seconds" and lots more encouragement that really pushes you. He offers you to use his equipment to stretch after the workout and is never in a rush to answer questions. He also taught us and makes sure that we stretch properly before every workout too. We use the Band App where we communicate, which he also will send us reminders or our times for certain goals we've completed. After our first two months is up, we plan on adding on another month because we're seeing results and don't want to stop! Coach Taz is definitely someone we will be keeping in touch with throughout our fitness journey as he's given us this opportunity and push that we needed to get started. He's flexible with scheduling so was able to meet our needs to when we can workout. I could keep going on and on but he is definitely someone I recommend 100%. I thank him for everything he's helped us with so far!

I was a little sore after the first session but felt better pretty quickly and have been going weekly since. My fourth session Stone wasn't available so I was booked with Coral. Same great experience -- she's actually the lead flexologist at the Waikele location and has an extensive background in sports medicine and wellness. I mentioned my back had been bothering me more than usual that week and she adjusted the session accordingly. Honestly I went in skeptical and I keep coming back, so that says enough.

The introduction session was comprehensive and their analysis system reflected exactly how I was feeling about my own flexibility and body. With the initial stretches that they performed on me, I could tell that this was not just a surface level stretch that I thought. These sessions are need specific to the customer and it convinced me enough that the membership cost was worth the try. It only took me a few sessions to realize that this was something that I wish I had done earlier in my life and that even though I'm getting older, my body has never felt better. I even expanded from 25 minute sessions to 50 minute sessions immediately. My flexologist Jori has been fantastic in taking care of weekly issues I may have and also in creating a long term plan to keep my body prepared for my sessions at hockey. She's friendly and always willing to give great suggestions on even things I can do at home in between sessions. They even let you use their Normatec recovery equipment outside of your sessions at any time, which has been a wonderful perk since that equipment can be incredibly expensive to buy for home use. It's been nice to come to my appointment for a great stretch and just relax while the Normatec equipment can do its thing. I strongly suggest that if this type of personalized care is within your budget that you consider it heavily, especially if you have specific needs or wants with your body. The staff makes it easy to keep wanting to come back every time and the space is always a relaxing place to get yourself taken care of.
