That is when the trouble started. The owner stated that the credit card machine was "broken", and that the only way to pay the bill was in cash. Needless to say, none of us had enough cash on hand to pay for a 2 week stay at the hotel. When we explained this to her, she said that we should go to a nearby bank and withdraw the money from a bank account or take a cash advance on our credit cards. We told her that this was not possible, due to limits on the amount of money we could take out at any one time. She then said that we should ask friends and family to wire the money to us so we could pay the bill, and that we should stop giving her a hard time, because WE were stressing HER out! She would not accept the credit cards, and refused to send us a bill, and we had no other way of paying. At this point we left the front desk. I returned a half hour later with 2 police officers, and lo and behold, the credit card machine worked again, and we were able to pay by credit card. There are many nice hotels in Wiesbaden; save yourself the hassle, spend a couple of extra bucks, and stay at a reputable hotel instead of this one.
