Four stars? More like four strikes. This was the worst experience my fiance and I have ever had in…read morea hotel. The suck-tasticness of this hotel can be summed up in three parts.
False Advertising of Everything
Had we known the airport shuttle service "amenity" was nothing more than them dialing a cab that costs 35 euros to the airport (10 more than if you flagged one yourself), we would've stayed at a hotel right next to the airport. The cabs alone added 80 euros to our stay. The hotel itself is filthy and smells like a musty dentist's office. The green astroturf carpets are atrocious, one night of sleeping on the sheets gives you rug burn, and it looks like nothing has been dusted in years. Don't even get me started on the "pillows", which were equivalent to folded towels. The toiletries smell like a cheap prostitute. Then there's the "free" WiFi, which we had to go down twice to resolve because the first jumbled code (which are printed off) didn't work. Even when we did get it to work, we got kicked off every time.
Shady Location
We saw a drug deal as we approached the hotel. It's close to the central train station, but not close enough that you don't feel like you have to clutch your belongings for dear life so as not to get mugged. Don't take my word for it? Take a staff member's. The one helpful staff member, a server, recommended Joe's Pizza and prefaced it with, "It's safe." So yeah. And the tracks right next to the hotel make it sound like a train's going to barrel right through the room.
Lazy Service
We got in late at night, bogged down with baggage. The three staff members could see us struggling; not one of them helped. The only helpful person was the server who was very nice and recommended a pizza place to order from...because we didn't feel safe walking.
Gordon Ramsey needs to visit this hotel and tear it to shreds. It's a mockery of the Fleming's name. Please take your money elsewhere!
