I also ordered a beer of course and the service was great. I loved the outside feel on a perfect day. The pork knuckle had lots of meat and a crispy skin from roasting. Delish! I think it helped that it was autumn (and a weekday) because it wasn't as crowded as what I imagine it could be. They have a food section where you can get a nice variety of German classics and then take them to sit on one of the picnic benches. Sausages, pretzels, desserts. You can get beer and beer mixes. Honestly, the food was all pretty tasty. I quite liked the apple strudel with loads of cream and the leberkase. Fries were also nice and crispy. They give you tokens when you order beer but don't really tell you what to do with them. Keep them with you as you return them along with your beer glasses to get a reimbursement. I wonder if that means you can just take the glasses with you if you don't return them.

Our personal favorite is the Dunkel, a darker full bodied truly Bavarian brew. You'll really want to drink them both, so plan to stay awhile in their charming Biergarten. All of their brews are organic, small batch beers, brewed onsite at this friendly, truly Bavarian establishment. The authentic food is some of the most delicious you'll find in all of Bavaria. The Schnitzel and German Potato Salad, yum! although everything we've eaten there was wonderful. The location is charming, nestled in the countryside with easy walking trails throughout the area. There is a fairly big area with table service and of course a self serve Biergarten. We sat in the self serve area. They serve Spaten beer here and their Maibock was really good. The food choice is good and I loved the food here. The ribs were really nice as was the Obatzda and Nürnberger sausages. I also tasted the steckerlfisch and it was delicious. They have live jazz band here and that was a welcome change to the normal Biergarten music. Loved the atmosphere, the food and the service. Look forward to my next visit. A gorgeous Biergarten in the outskirts of the city.
