We wandered over to Apolda from Weimar, to meet my son who was running there across the countryside. Needing to find dinner while waiting for him, we found this place on Yelp. We were the only guest in this small neighborhood tavern. The owner was extremely hospitable and offered us just one item before we accepted: steak medallions with mushroom sauce, salad and fries. The resulting dinner was outstanding. The salad was pickled beets, green beans and cucumber. So crunchy and sour! Excellent. It is worth a side trip to Apolda to eat here. read more
