He and the crew gave me a full price estimate and timeline on the project, asking for half the money as a deposit, also to be used for supplies with the other half due at completion. It took me a few weeks to obtain the building permit required for my porch. He kept in contact with me through that process to ensure we were on the same page and he could start as soon as I got everything in order. Brandon and the guys arranged to start on a day that worked for me, starting at around 9am to sunset everyday until both projects were done. They were profession and courteous through the whole job, only leaving behind sawdust in the grass. Great group of guys. I later had them come back to replace an 8x12 section of subfloor, main door to the house and floor tiles for the kitchen/entry way. Same experience as the first job. I have them scheduled again for this spring to renovate two bathrooms and replace some windows. Apex Construction is one of the best representations of a Maine local business I've seen in a long time. You'll end up keeping their phone number in your contacts for your next construction project, for sure. (will be more owed due to damages) see you in court!! this business does not have the equipment to do this type of work. could not haul off the cement from the tear up, he used our truck with his trailer and we had to pay $900 at the dump but he indicated he had a fill place!!! had to use our wheelbarrow and hard rake. june 30 deadline to pay has come and gone, legal process begins. see you in court for money paid for services not rendered and for damages to fence, pool coping and back yard!

I contacted a number of contractors to inquire about repairing the concrete floor in the basement…read moreof my 80-yr old home in Portland. Jamie from Custom Concrete of Maine was definitely the right person for the job. He replied to my online inquiry and came to the house to check out the project within 24 hrs. He gave me a detailed cost estimate before he even left the house. The next day, he worked a 10+ hr day and completed the project. He communicated clearly with me about the extent of the work; he told me when to expect him at the house; and he gave me project updates along the way. Based on my experience with other concrete contractors in the area, Jamie's rates are very reasonable. In the end I was happy with the repaired floor. He's one of the good ones and I wouldn't hesitate to work with him again!

I contacted Gage about designing and constructing stairs to our second floor and creating a rec…read moreroom, half bath and storage room. Due to the demolition required to build the stairs, we asked if they could begin that process when we left for an 8 day vacation in January. He agreed and after meetings to tighten up the design and engage his plumber we trusted our home to Gage and his team and left. Before we left he told us he not only planned on building the stairs but basically completing the entire job! While we were gone we got consistent updates, pictures and videos of the progress. When we got back the job was 99% complete. He gave us time to figure out if there were any adjustments to make and took care of our requests. They do good work on an aggressive schedule. We highly recommend.

We agreed on a realistic budget, and Gage scheduled the work around our availability. His team took great care during the repair, shoring up structures and making improvements to the deck's structural integrity, all within the agreed-to budget and timeline. We are happy with the repaired deck; it's much more solid and secure. We highly recommend Gage and KCM and look forward to future projects with them.
