Juan Carlos makes it fun and low-stress to learn Spanish, while maintaining just enough strictness and structure that you don't get too casual about learning. He's flexible with class schedules, and the classes are very reasonably priced for the amount of personal attention you get. He's also just a cool, interesting guy! I can read spanish and write spanish, but before taking this class i was not comfortable speaking spanish and it was difficult to talk. After 5 weeks of class, i am much more comfortable and i have built more skills around the language. I think my success is because the class were so small, speaking spanish was encourage through out the class, and our instructor spoke to us in spanish through out the whole class. Their own signed contract (Refund and Cancellation Policy, section 2) clearly states that if a student's F-1 visa is denied, all tuition paid will be refunded. That never happened. Instead, for the next several years, I called, emailed, and visited their office in person, only to be told over and over "the manager isn't here." When I finally pushed hard enough, the owner hung up on me on the phone simply because I insisted on my rights. I have years of emails proving I followed up repeatedly, including formal refund requests in 2024, and got nothing but silence. When I posted my first review in Google, they suddenly found the time to write a long, polite-sounding public response, full of claims that don't match what actually happened. They said they emailed me in 2019 asking about postponing the start date, that I "went silent," and that a series of postponements led to an auto-cancellation. None of that happened. We spoke in person, they already knew about the visa denial, and in 2020 Covid hit anyway and everything moved online, so their whole excuse doesn't even hold up. They also brought up that I suggested transferring the deposit to my brother, a friend, and later my wife. It was simply me trying to help out a small business during a hard time, since I never imagined a legitimate school would use a good-faith gesture as an excuse to keep money for a service that was never provided. Zero classes were ever taken. Their own contract guarantees a full refund in this exact situation. A company that ignores your emails for years, avoids you in person, and hangs up on you when you ask for your legal rights, but suddenly has a polished PR response ready the moment their reputation is on the line, tells you everything you need to know. Zero professionalism, zero ethics. Don't be fooled by the friendly tone in their replies. I have the contract, the invoice, and years of emails to back up every word of this.

And it was finally when I attended Global ESL Academy that I felt an improvement in my English. I learned something everyday, and realized why I wasn't understood sometimes because I wasn't expressing myself correctly. I even learned the rules for comma usage and realized that all the emails I had sent so far were full of mistakes. I learned more vocabulary and was able to recognize those new learned words in conversations with American people and felt more confident about myself.
