Zounds Hearing Aids was founded by Sam Thomasson, an Engineer and entrepreneur who has spent his career developing new technologies in the medical device and consumer electronics industries. Sam is also the father of a teenage daughter who suffers from a hearing loss, and has witnessed the problems associated with today's hearing aids. Sam promised his daughter that he would develop a hearing aid to address the key problems common with other high-end hearing aids. Zounds Hearing's breakthrough technology is the fulfillment of a father's promise to his daughter and the solution for dissatisfied hearing aid users around the world.
Zounds Hearing's goal is to offer a portfolio of hearing aids and wireless devices that provide the world's best performing technology at an affordable price to anyone with a mild, moderate, or moderate/severe hearing loss.

History
Established in 2005.
Zounds Hearing Aids was founded by Sam Thomasson - an accomplished electrical engineer - who has worked for companies such as Motorola, VLSI, and Medtronic, leading engineering teams on everything from computer components to pacemakers.
When Sam's daughter Kate was 13 months old, a sudden illness destroyed most of her hearing. Kate suffered the same kind of problems with her hearing aids that other wearers experienced. Sam built a lab in his home and went to work creating technical solutions for hearing aid issues. His work resulted in a number of significant advancements, which he patented.
In 1998, he founded Acoustic Technologies, a company located in Arizona, to further his work. Sam's technology has been utilized in products we all use, including cell phones from companies such as Motorola, LG, and Samsung.
In 2005, Sam founded Zounds Hearing, licensing his technology from Acoustic Technologies for exclusive use in the hearing aid industry.
