This was my first adventure in spray tanning, and Glow did not disappoint! While it's not a perfect…read morescience for coverage, it was pretty darn close and anything that was a little off was not at all where it was going to be noticeable. I had a ballroom dance showcase event that I wanted to have some fresh color for, so I went in the day prior. The only downside to the whole process was that I felt like I should be standing still and dry for at least 12 hrs, and I was unclear on when I could actually take a full-on shower (with soap). I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because I left Glow feeling like perhaps my new tan was going to come off by the next day if i wasn't super ultra careful (and prob smelly due to no shower). It turns out that while some of the intensive color did come off with my first rinse, the remaining color was perfect for my dance event and I would definitely come back here again for the next showcase. *Note - parking is near the back of the building and the entrance is the same for the adjoining salon - just have to go up the staircase to find your Glow. :)

I didn't know what type of look to get so I had the technician suggest a color formula for me. I tanned topless with my underwear left on. Very natural looking. I will def visit Glow again!

So, when my friend suggested we get spray tans for her wedding, I was a little concerned about it being an absolute disaster and I'd end up like an oompa loompa, ultimately ruining her wedding. Thankfully, that was not the case! The owner was really sweet and walked us through the process as first-timers. It's a strange experience the first time around -- standing still in strange positions, not being able to rest your hands anywhere on your body, getting next to naked in front of a stranger -- but hey it all turned out OK. It isn't a lengthy process -- about 15 min. The only downside is that you feel pretty sticky after. I may have exaggerated my gestures walking like a stick figure for fear that I would smudge myself. You don't have to be that delicate, but I do recommend a flowy dress afterward because the less clothing touching you, the better. The best part: it looked spectacular. I opted for the lightest option and it looked like I had a subtle summer glow for a little over a week. No streaks, no orange! I will most definitely be back for special occasions. I can't say this is a priority on my end for the everyday look because it would be expensive to maintain, but rather a nice treat during the gloomy winter months or before special occasions (weddings, etc.). The owner is super talented, making what she does look easy. She mentioned she trains all the folks who do airbrushed spray tans in the area. A clear sign of skill. Worth the trek to Webster! Tips to remember: - Exfoliate and shave before you go in for a visit - Go a day or two before your big event because you can't shower for 8 hrs. after the spray and you'll shed that first bronzer layer in the shower (rather than all over your nice clothes) - Wear a dress or something dark and flowy - Don't wear makeup or remove it right before the appt. so your face remains the same color as the rest of your bod

I was feeling pretty low about myself, and not very pretty. I thought if I bought some new makeup, I'd feel better about myself. Nope! Didn't work. I walked in. The front door was very heavy, and I was strugglibg to open it, because I'm weak due to my chemo. A bottled red head, all made up, cupie doll sat at the front ready to greet me with a smile. However, it never occurred to her to help me with the door. Once I stumbled in and fixed my headscarf, because my hair is falling out. She greeted me kindly and asked how she may help me? My brain was thinking, "Opening the door would have been helpful" but instead I smiled back, and asked for MAC makeup. She can back with, "Oh sorry hun, we don't sell MAC" I told her that I just read an article in The NY Times where they announced Sephora was now selling MAC" She said, Nope! Sorry hun! Yes, she called a 55 year old women hun. Extremely inappropriate for a girl her age. I do not think hun, baby, doll, any of those types of greeting are appropriate for anyone, at any age. Her smile was obnoxious and she said nothing more after that. She stood there like she expected me to walk away. So I did just that. Turned and walked straight out the door. That was that. No, How about I show you what we have that is comparable? I would have been fine with an alternative option. But the girl was not bright enough to turn it into a sale. She probably even thought she did he job well. So I left, went to Ulta and dropped Over 500.00 there on all new makeup. Not all of it was MAC. But the girls at Ulta were incredible. Helpful, nonjudgmental. They were not made up like Cupie dolls, like in Sephora. They had a more mature, classic look to their makeup. Sephora might be for kids, but I have 6 daughters and 10 granddaughters that will be getting Ulta gift cards from now on, instead of Sephora. What was it, that Julia Roberts said in Pretty Woman. Oh ya! "Big Mistake Sephora, Big Mistake"
