At that point, we decided to enroll with Sit & Stay Academy. From what we saw the facility is clean and well-kept. The dogs are in large cages and we did not see "overcrowding" that the others are reporting. From what we saw, the staff are very attentive to the dogs there. Clark is great and definitely know their stuff! Sanchez was there for about 8-9 months with weekly visits/training classes for ourselves. We have had Sanchez home for about 2 months now. He is like a new dog. He does not have any desire to hump the other dogs. He really doesn't want anything to do with them in terms of messing with them. They can all lay beside each other and nothing bad happens. Yes, the training can look a bit rough, but that's because we haven't done training on any of our dogs and it was new to us. The program was definitely worth the money. Sanchez is super obedient now and life is great. Thank you Sit & Stay Academy!!

My initial…read moreconsultation with Taylor was great, she asked a lot of questions about my Malinois rescue and what I was looking to get out of training. I explained to her that there were a few areas that he and I could use some help in, and we got the ball rolling. Brent showed up on the day of pickup and walked me through the process of what to expect during the time he would be training Kona and what kind of updates I would get. I got daily pictures and updates on his status. All I can say is wow, when Kona came back, he was a different dog. Brent spent about 2.5 hours with my family explaining how to integrate the training he used into our lives and how to use the tools he provided us with to make sure Kona succeeds. I think he trains the owners more than the dogs (lol). After we went through his training it was time to put it to use, he had my wife, and I walk Kona, and he gave us tips on how to correct behavior and relax and enjoy the walk. Thank you to Brent and his staff for helping us help Kona be a successful rescue and a huge part of our family.

The one star for the training, and the lack of stars for unprofessional conduct from the owner…read more(Brent). Our dog went through professional behavioral training through another company years ago. He had a solid baseline for learning and commands (sit, heal, place, etc.). Our primary issue was our dog's reactivity. We needed more help on how we as owners could manage this better. We decided to go with Ridgeside K-9 based on their stellar reviews and 4 week behavior modification board and train. Brent picked our dog up and was very thorough on what the plan was. We received a picture/video just about every evening with minimal communication attached. We were trusting their process. During the turn over, everything went well. We did notice our dog had lost a good amount of weight. He was never over weight by any means, but now we can really feel his ribs, spine, and hip bones. Nothing unhealthy though. We also noticed his bark was very different, and we figured it was due to him barking in the kennel during the turn over. Just over a week went by, and our dog's bark was still extremely weak. That coupled with our dog's weight loss had us a little uneasy. When confronting Brent over a phone call out of concern for our dog he became extremely defensive. He heatedly said our dog about drove him insane for 2 weeks due to his barking (which he never thought to mention previously), and then asked if we see a difference in him considering the training. I said not significantly. As mentioned, we've worked our dog for years, and the technique Brent taught us regarding our dog's reactivity is new to us. It had been just over a week and we were still learning to manage and get the results we need. However, before I could elaborate on any of this Brent completely flew off the handle. He was literally YELLING at me over the phone, saying I don't know what I'm talking about, we are the problem, and that I am a person who worries too much. I simply wanted to talk to him out of concern for my dog, and I felt like that meant nothing to him. My husband intervened on the phone due to Brent's disrespect toward me and it only got worse from there. We didn't get a hint of this instability throughout our prior interactions with Brent, and this left both of us completely in shock. Once things cooled down, Brent went back into a mode of wanting to help. Although this was appreciated, the damage was done. Brent has a lot of passion and pride in his work, but his temper concerns us greatly. It was like a switch, and there was ABSOLUTELY no excuse for that level of disrespect towards us.

Owned and operated by a mother-daughter team, The Wagging Club brings a level of professionalism and genuine care that is rare to find anywhere, let alone in a pet care facility. From the moment you walk in, the difference is obvious. The playrooms are bright and engaging, the facility is spotless, and if your dog is boarding, the documentation and communication are meticulous -- you always know exactly how your pup is doing. They have an indoor pool, an outdoor splash zone, private walks, and medication administration if needed. The amenities alone would be impressive, but what truly sets them apart is the staff. My favorite thing? The live video feed. Watching my boy play with the other dogs -- and watching the team take quiet, intentional one-on-one time with each animal -- told me everything I needed to know. These people love what they do, and it shows in every interaction. Hours run 7 AM to 7 PM for daily drop-offs, which is a genuine convenience for working owners. And with their bulk purchase pricing, it's honestly one of the best values in the Tampa area for the quality you receive. We are moving soon, and leaving The Wagging Club is one of the hardest parts. If you're looking for a place that will treat your family member like their own -- clean, safe, professionally run, and full of heart -- look no further.

We needed boarding for our 8 year old English Bull Terrier, Claire. We were going away for 6 days…read moreand we had only ever left her somewhere overnight. I visited and assessed 6 other facilities before deciding on The Wagging Club. Here were some of the deciding factors. We opted for the luxury accommodation which gave her a large room with a tv so she could have dog tv on while in her suite. We turn this on at home while we go out. We love the calm and soothing music. The staff is always great. Courteous. Friendly. Very accommodating. One of the final deciding factors was the daycare. She was in daycare from 7:00 am until around 5:30/6:00. While they don't offer daycare as a service on Sundays, all the dogs in boarding went to daycare. It was comforting to me knowing she'd be too tired at night to miss us much. Every other place I toured didn't offer the all day daycare and the one other place I found that did, didn't offer it on Sunday. Most places had playtime blocks for the dogs. The Wagging Club has two play areas, separating big dogs and little dogs. Claire weighs 49 lbs, falling in the middle so we opted for the small dog room, but she would do fine in the big dog room as well. On Sunday, all the dogs go to the larger big dog play area and she did just fine. Another feature we loved was the outdoor play area. It was a large area surrounded by a high white wooden fence. I mention the white because it really brightened the area up as opposed to the dinginess of some of the other places that I visited. They offered a splash pad that was brightly painted with a huge flower, along with a bone shaped splash pool. Climbing apparatus is everywhere from the daycare rooms to the outdoor area. What I really loved also were the misters along the entire outdoor play area. We boarded her in the middle of August and the misters around the outdoor play area meant they considered how hot it is in summer. Another deciding factor was the cleanliness. This facility was a bit far from us but compared to some of the places I toured, it was immaculate. I remember feeling like I would be putting her into a shelter when I toured a few of the other places. It was traumatic for me enough, leaving her for 6 days. I was an annoying helicopter mom and they were lovely. They have cameras in the outdoor area and the playrooms. The boarding facility where she slept was in a completely separate building which I appreciate because it's away from the noise of the daycare for feeding and nap purposes. They generally close around 5:00 on Sundays. Our plane landed at 4:20. We had parked at the airport and they were able to accommodate us by staying a bit longer and we were able to collect her by 5:20. When we did collect her, she had been bathed and smelled wonderful. They offer all kinds of other services including a large indoor swimming pool. Excellent therapy for dogs who can benefit from physical therapy or just exercise. Grooming services and extra packages are also available. Things like outdoor walks. Cuddle time. Treats before bed. We took advantage of the 20% discount for new customers and they offered a military discount on top of that! They also sent us daily postcards. A photo with a cute note. In summary: I loved the cleanliness, great service, friendliness and the overall facility itself. It felt less like a shelter than any other place I toured. Some of the places were downright scary to me, even though my husband found them adequate. It was the best choice for me and that's all that mattered. It was about my trauma of leaving her, knowing about her anxiety and this place was able to allay all my concerns and fears. Claire has anxiety in new surroundings, even when we take her with us. I felt comfortable leaving her knowing she would be in good hands. We will definitely continue to use and recommend The Wagging Club. On busy days when we have errands to run or appointments, we will definitely consider leaving her at daycare.
