Absolutely amazing job, Anne helped my fiancé and I, and I couldn't be any happier. She is very…read morethorough, very explanatory and made us feel comfortable while being in her office, and we were in there for a long time going through ALL of our stuff. She is more than just helpful with taxes she went above and beyond. I have dealt with many tax personal prior and I will only recommend and deal with Anne and her family from here on out!

Complete rip-off, and she rudely asked if I was "expecting" twice. I sincerely hope that at least…read morewas a miscommunication, even if everything else was blatantly bad business. We went to an advertised "free" consultation. I asked a question, and was told it would cost $139 and turn into a tax consult if she answered. So, the free consultation didn't allow us to ask any questions, or else it would become a consultation and cost money...? Make it make sense. I said I understood, she didn't need to answer, yet at the end, after NOT answering my question about realtor commissions counting for cost basis when calculating capital gains, and telling us a tax document was incorrect and sending us on a wild goose chase (it said at the top DOES NOT CONTAIN STATE TAX INFORMATION yet she told us my husband's employer misreported his state tax info, which both other accountants I interviewed caught and explained immediately), she still surprised us with a $139 bill. We paid to avoid a scene as she had other clients, but do plan to reach out and ask for a refund, as we never agreed to pay after being advertised a "free" consult- that contained multitudes of bad information regardless! We were going to be MASSIVELY overcharged had we gone with her, as she was over 10x the price of the lowest option and nearly 10x the price as the next most expensive option, that included audit insurance. We had moderately complicated taxes, due to capital gains on a house. We are not self employed, do not have any investments, own a business, or have any other complicating factor to justify the insane price we were quoted. It took her the full hour to sort through our documents and she still wasn't near done- other accountants ranged from 45 min- 1 hour for a complete consult. She was going to charge us approximately $5,000. Other accountants quoted us from $300-600. (We went with H+R Block due to their audit insurance for an estimated total of $600, which still very much on the high end for filing taxes.) And before anyone assumes miscommunication- she gave us a printed bill with estimated charges totaling $4896. That was not our estimated tax burden, that was HER fee to file our taxes. During the free consults with the other accountants, they both answered all my questions (like one does during a free consult...) and both accountants pointed out factual errors in what we had been told. (See above, some 2024 W2s put state tax information on a separate page/document, and she was unaware of this change, for the most stressful example.) Anne Shade insisted we had to file extra paperwork and called it "difficult" when you sell and buy a house in the same tax year- even though most people who sell a house buy another to have a place to live- and both other accountants explained that in our case we only had to file paperwork on the first house, and any paperwork related to the newly acquired house would only matter when we go to sell. She also gave us information disputed by both other accountants and my own research about the medical exemption to capital gains tax, and the amount of up-front documentation needed to claim that exemption. She was going to file, and charge us for, a ton of unnecessary documents. I do not know how this "free" consult went so horribly off the rails. But I am not the only review online with a claim of being overcharged to file unnecessary documents.

I came here under the recommendation of a lawyer friend, after quitting a demeaning job of over 5…read moreyears that had no room for growth. First understand, this is not an easy process. I went in for an "interview" where I met with everyone from the receptionist to the owner. I was initially impressed at how warm and seemingly genuine everyone was. I clearly stated the fields I was interested in and the type of work I wanted. They told me they would revise my resume with a few jobs in mind, and I would hear back from them. They wanted to offer me a job with them which although was appealing for experience, was not something long term I wanted to get into and felt would interfere with my dream job. I applied to all available legal and admin jobs listed on their site. I even interviewed for a lawyers office that I thought went exceptionally well, especially considering how well prepared, dressed, and articulate I was compared to the girls much younger than myself that interviewed me (6 in total in 3 rounds). I was also offered a job that I had no interest in far away from where I live where traffic was horrendous and would take me over 2 hours round trip daily. Again, I stated these were not the positions I wanted unless they pertained to legal, admin, government or municipal employment. I had to email and call them over 2-4 times, which I have copies of. They were apologizing because they couldn't be bothered at the very least to call me and tell me if I was considered, employer wasn't interested in hiring, if they were still interviewing, etc. It's sad when you have an interview and don't hear back from them since you cannot directly deal with the employer-seems like they dropped the ball. For being out of work for almost 2 months, being more than well qualified for these jobs, and not hearing back after an interview for over one month since I had to send an e-mail asking what was going on.. I'm all set with dealing with such an unprofessional agency. I understand things happen, but I shouldn't have to hold your hand to request basic information. It makes me that much happier I didn't entertain an office assistant position with them, which seems to have a quick rotation in vacancy. I can't get a response after a month for an interview, but they want to call me last week about "another job opportunity." I've gotten this 4 times. Each time, it's either something I specifically don't want and no explanation as to what happened with the last job. For the resume they "edited" and I requested a copy of, they included NONE of my experience being self-employed, interning for a police department, or working for a senator, which seems to me would work well for legal jobs. I watched them right it down on a rough copy, which is interesting since it's nonexistent on the one they send out. Good luck to anyone that deals with them. I'm baffled by the 5 star reviews they have considering the lack of Linked-In traffic. I seriously doubt the credibility of this organization. I'd love to hear from anyone who has had success with other agencies if you could e-mail me :) To City Personnel...no need to respond to "You do everything you can..." in response to this review. You clearly do not. Good luck staying afloat!

However one day I was a little early for one of my graduate classes at Salve Regina University and the satellite campus used to be around the corner. I went in there and to my surprise all of the staff were professional and extremely helpful! On top of that they weren't annoying and hounding you- they provide you with that perfect balance of help without annoying you! They also have SOMETHING for EVERYONE whether it's a video game system or just video games, iPad's,Louis Vuitton handbags, Guitars/Musical Instruments, Pinball/Pacman Machines, Tiffany & Co. Jewlery, & Movado Watches. Many are high end and would cost thousand if purchase at the retailer and here you only pay a few hundred. They also have check cashing and will cash payroll checks. They provide individuals with loans and will accept 'things' for pawn or to purchase. They will purchase gold or silver as well. People usually associate Pawn Shops with people who have no money but this place is quite the opposite! They are professional, helpful and courteous! I've sent many of my friends here over the years- whether they need a few extra bucks or need to borrow something and put it in pawn- this is your spot!
