    TLDR: it felt like I was the first person they ever insured. Offered many excuses but never able…read moreto rectify problems which made me nervous that if I ever had real issues/claims they would not be able to handle it. So my policies ended up in the hands of B and M after my agency closed and my former agents ended up working there. My first clue that there would be headaches is that they didn't let me keep the agent and assistant I had been working with for 13 years at the previous company. I told myself it would be fine because b and m had been around for a long time and I'm sure they're just as experienced as my agent. I was wrong. The annoyances came in the fact that they somehow lost my discount for using my bank account for automatic withdrawals. No big deal...just get it back....right?? Wrong again. Multiple phone calls, policy changes, cancellations, rewrites and on and on. The real kicker is that I pay my premiums in full anyway; something most smart companies give you a discount for but this one does not. Now I understand that automation of withdrawal vs paying in full has nothing to do with b and m and was related to the actual insurance company, but the fact that they couldn't resolve the issue with the actual company after 3 MONTHS was infuriating especially after cutting a check for $7500. I kept getting bills and policy cancellations in the mail for 3 months despite paying the premiums in full and all over a $68 discount. Was it the end of the world?? Ofc not but the frustrations left me wondering what would happen if I had an issue with a claim down the road. Would they be able to handle it?? It also didn't help that the woman that handled me was very hard to speak with on the phone. Awkward pauses, confusion, abnormal flow of conversation, being talked over are just a few of the things that made it even harder to tolerate the issues. Now for the good part. I went online, and within 30 mins had new home and auto policies that saved me close to $3000/year; most likely by cutting out the middleman. I'd probably been overpaying for years but accepted it because I had good customer service. Had b and m just taken care of things for me I'd still be overpaying. And this new company gives a discount for paying in full; the way things should be. So thank you for making me solicit new quotes and ultimately saving me money. I know that they must have some talent at their agency as they have been in business for years, but unfortunately I didn't get to witness it.
