We went on the Super Karts (the faster go karts) they were so much fun and at the end we got a print out of our race times! Then we went on the Drift Karts. The staff wet the drift track down and we got sideways around the whole track!! We played some Laser tag and went on their new ride the Gyroscope...was so dizzy when I got off!!! Then we raced the Slot Cars and rode the Bucking Bull. The kids played in the playground and jumped on the jumping castle, and also played Laser Tag and drove the slot cars with us. There was so much more to do there like Dodgem Cars, Mini Golf, Bowling, Sumo Wrestling and heaps more but we just ran out of time. We will definitely be going back again but will allow more time to do a bit of everything. You need at least 2 and a half hours to 3 hours if you want to try everything!! This place was fun for adults and the kids. I recommend this for anyone who is looking for a way to entertain the kids or have some fun with friends.

With the weather moody and a desire to roll in the next 20 minutes, we found ourselves at the Kingpin Bowling Lounge for a rather expensive yet enjoyable three games of bowling. Kingpin aims at doing a lot of the things that Strike bowling does (serve drinks, have music, and lights on the lanes) but at the same time it is probably more tailored towards families than Strike. The bowling was fun as I hit a rare 150 (I'm a pretty shitty bowler admittedly). Enjoyable times but the lack of specials they offer means it would be an expensive pastime. I guess it is yet another string in Crown's entertainment bow. If in Crown and you feel like bowling, head to Kingpin. Otherwise, I prefer the Strike experience.

My ability to commando roll and shoot someone in the chest has diminished with old age, but I think my enjoyment of running around in the dark with 12 strangers and a couple of friends has increased. And so I found myself at the Middle Park Bowling Club for a friend's birthday; two lanes sequestered just for our party and a cute little function room set aside for food, drinks and merriment. This popular bowling club also has a bar which is ridiculously cheap - I'm guessing this adds to lawn bowls' appeal - alongside not one but three bowling greens which ostensibly accommodate up to 144 people. Both competitive and casual players are welcome and there is a laid back atmosphere to the Middle Park Bowling Club which makes it a great place to while away the day with half of your focus trained on the green and the other on the bar.

You can sip back cheap beers all day long and shoot the breeze. The only problem is many clubs won't necessarily like you doing this - especially if they have beautifully manicured lawns. Well the guys at Middle Park Bowling Club are a great bunch of follks who welcome one and all. They are more than happy to let you know the rules and will chip in with a few jokes about how bad you are at the game if you wander up to the bar for a jug of beer. At $10 a day for non-members and $50 for a years casual membership, this is honestly the cheapest and best entertainment money can buy. You can also hire out a few greens and bbq's for an event such as a birthday or Christmas party. And by hire I mean you pretty just have to assume them that you'll spend a bit at the bar. They will even put on some 80's disco music on for you later on if you pay them enough.

Prior to 2002, bowling of the crown green variety was a pastime for the old and boring. However,…read morethings swung greatly (like my bowls) in 2002 with the release of the now cult classic Crackerjack. It was the biggest grossing movie of the year and suddenly crown green bowling was the young and hip thing to do. In light of this fact, my then boss decided to take us on a work social to the Richmond Bowling Club to see whether it had rightfully been popularized or whether it was just a passing fad. To my surprise lawn bowls has a lot going for it. We were given a lesson by (who I presume was) the 1969 bowls state champion, sporting a rather fetching Richmond tracksuit. He knew his stuff and he had those bowls swinging from left to right, right to left, in no time. There were plenty of beers too; and these were dramatically cheaper than you'd find in your local boozer. In short, crown green bowling is here to stay and you should come get your fill before it's too late.

All the rules are the same as you remember; if you get hit, you're out. If you catch the ball, the player that threw it is out and you get to bring in another team member. Last man standing is the winner. But boy, this sport got competitive! On my first game I took the tactic of stand-in-the-back-and-no-one-will-notice-you but unfortunately my entire team got knocked out and I was the remaining competitor. The other team threw four balls at me all at once, knocked my feet out from under me, and hello sprained ankle! However dodgeball is a lot more fun than I remember too. Tyler, the President of the League, umpires the match with some very upbeat dance tunes, the other players are fit and spunky (and young!) and a good time is had by all. Games are played on Thursday nights and remember to be on time to maths class afterwards.
