Let's start: OMG! Again OMG! I found it. After 39 years of living in Rockland county I found a traditional Puerto Rican restaurant. The food was authentic. As close to if not true homemade food. The ingredients were fresh and clean. Clean? Yeah like the oil used for frying was not greasy or brown. This takes attention to detail to provide "Abuela style" food. The roast pork was perfect. Rice and gandules fresh not dry. My picky wife has beef stew. She loved it. Down to the mojo (garlic sauce) that was not an oily mess. This is a small owner run restaurant whose owner takes pride in every aspect of the quality of the food she serves. What Juliana deserves is that true lovers of quality Latin cuisine frequent her cozy spot. This is a tough business especially marketing Puerto Rican cuisine. Went in on my lunch break, I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and let me tell you it was DeLiCious!!! It was so fresh and warm I should have gotten two. This place is a hidden gem, I was told since I love empanadas that I "had" to check them out so I did.. and they lived up to the hype! I had their shrimp empanada and it was delicious..perfectly seasoned and full of shrimp. I couldnt get enough and was disappointed when it was gone. Remember when you were a kid and you ate slow to make it last longer? That's what I did..slowed down my bites so I could savor the flavor..hey! That rhymes..lol.. Came here after my wife recommended we get take out. Being a family of 5 we called in an order instead of eating there. Unfortunately when we opened up the bag found we were missing items. Staff was friendly and all taking covid measures. They did eventually deliver to us the missing items which made up for it but still the experience could have been much better if we got everything the first time around. So happy to I found this place, came in hopping for some cafe con leche or mofongo but to my surprise they don't serve it, currently doing keto so no rice n beans instead I ordered the salmon salad wasn't bad but it could use some spice, my friend loved the Cuban sandwich. What a surprise to find this gem on our weekend getaway. The owner came out to greet us, young mom and pop restaurant and true dream come true for them. The food is Puerto Rican fare and rally delicious. The Pernil was fall off the bone tender , the yellow rice with pigeon peas was tasty and moist, but out groups favorite was the Cuban sandwich! Sinfully good, crispy on the outside, full of deliciousness on the inside. The flan dessert was very dense but silky smooth. We were the only sit down costumers on a Friday night and felt like VIPs. I ordered the food as soon as I left work in Rockland county, and when I got there, 1 hour later, it wasn't done. After I got there, I still had to wait close to 30 minutes. If I had not already paid, I probably would have just left. They were also out of some things.
