The first time I came to Sorrento was a few years ago now and I really enjoyed the evening and food. I thought the staff were amazing and was impressed with this little restaurant. However, I recently went a few weeks ago around Mothers Day. When I telephoned on the Wednesday to make a reservation for Saturday I found the man on the other end of the phone to be a bit abrupt. He advised me that the only slot they had was for 6pm, just after they open and added "if you want any later then you'll have to go somewhere else". To me, it sounded quite like I was inconveniencing him for making a booking at their restaurant. The food I ordered was fine, starter was better than the main course, but it wasn't as good as I'd expected and felt a bit disappointed as I remembered it being better the time begore. Even though I didn't feel particularly welcome to make a booking, I'd still recommend trying to make a reservation to avoid being turned away as this restaurant does get full pretty quickly. I think I'd return again just to see if next time I enjoy the experience a bit more, if next time I feel it's any better then I'll amend my review and leave it with 4 stars.

The quality of the food is of an acceptable standard, and I haven't been disappointed yet, but then they do have to compete with several other Italian themed restaurants within close proximity. They have a pretty good selection of wines but short on beers, but the prices rare quite reasonable ranging from £10 - £25 per head depending on how many courses you have. The atmosphere is very relaxed and it feels like your in Italy in a small terrace on the hills. As I am a huge prawn fan, I always order the butterfly buttered prawns with the garlic sauce. The stove baked pizzas are very homemade and crisp. Price is reasonable, your looking at about £15 exaggerate per head for a stater, shared pizza and wine, and they even give you free olives in garlic and lemon sauce for free as soon as you sit down. Having dined here on a number of occasions I am unable to find anything that i didn't like about it. The service has always been pleasant with a friendly touch to it, The food has always been cooked to my liking. The meatballs in tomato sauce with melted cheese with a hint of rosemary made for a nice first course, the chicken and pancetta rigatoni in a creamy sauce was cooked just how i liked it, sadly We didn't have time for dessert as we were off to see Lee Evans at the O2 (which was subsequently cancelled) NB: Wildwoods shares its position in the high street with ASK, but Wildwoods wins hands down for service, food and atmosphere.
