5/9/26 12:02pm North Zips Roswell NM, users beware. I've been hesitant to use their services in the past, as the quality and upkeep of the site has gone downhill since it used to be Champion. This Zips North Main St Roswell NM location, has upon entry, broken credit card machines, having to wait for an attendant to swipe your card using apple tap on ipad, no paper receipt available, apparently it was also broken. Should have been an indicator, but I was patient and decided to anyway. Pulled in, not much attention to prescrub, machine started and advanced. My 2013 Jeep Sahara Unlimited got about halfway in, the upper rotating brush for the hood and windshield came down and immediately bounced and slammed the windshield twice shattering it. It felt like the tracks skipped as the jeep felt like it was being shook in all directions. Literally felt like a Final Destination scene. The jeep finally inched out but the wash was out of sequence. Devastated I snapped a photo before exiting to show the windshield smashed in the center like a butterfly across the entire thing. Needless to say, I wasn't happy. Pulled around to see the attendant to notify him and get an incident report. He pulled up the ipad, fumbled through a form, not very well it seemed as he asked me to repeat my information, email, phone, address, VIN, and took photos of my jeep. I thought OK they will be in contact and hopefully get this resolved expeditiously. I have not seen a follow up email of the claim ticket# or incident. So I did a follow up email online and submitted these same photos. I did receive an auto-response email stating the help ticket was received at 4:41pm through their Facebook (zipscarwash.com). So since Zips would not refund my money on their very poor car wash, I called the BBB to file a complaint. They felt I should of been offered a refund, but that grievance did not warrant a complaint. Especially after I had submitted a Yelp Review warning other customers. They suggested calling my credit card company. Sure glad I did because after explaining everything, the credit card company issued a "dispute" to Zips car wash. I told my credit card company I had dozens of emails and pictures. The account rep. said to retain them, just in case they needed them, but they were refunding my $17.75. Personally in my opinion, if Zips would have apologized the first time and refunded my money; that would have been the end of it. On June 23, 2023, I was passing through Rosewell on my way to Texas when I stopped for a car wash at Zips on N Main. The drive up payment machine didn't work. The attendant had to charge the transaction inside the office. I specifically said, "I only want a single car wash, not a membership." He came back with my card and receipt indicating a single car wash for $10.78 was charged to my card. The car wash attendant barely sprayed the bug filled front bumper before I entered the car wash. The car wash was mediocre at best. I will not use this car wash again; because it was subpar and I live in Texas. But the main reason I won't use Zips Car Wash is... On July 26th, I checked my credit card activity, there were daily attempts, starting July 23, from Zips #173 to charge my credit card $48.52! They were all declined, thank goodness. I called my credit card company to get a contact number for Zips, but it was not listed in their transaction data. I requested the card be canceled and a new one issued. I thought that would solve the problem. But nooooo! The daily attempts still showed up on my credit card account from July 27 to August 2. How frustrating and stressful to open the credit card app and see a red triangle and the word "Declined" on several line items. I tried calling the Zips #173 location, but it connects to an outsourced customer service call center. It was so frustrating. The rep asked for a lot info. I inquired why all that info was needed if I did not sign up for a membership? She said to research the system. Then she said "I see your membership, you must have forgotten you signed up." WTF! She canceled the membership and told me to remove the RF tag from my vehicle since the membership was canceled. What!?! Poor customer service from start to the finish. read more

I specifically asked the young man if they still take the brush to vehicles and he said yes. Well when I went to go into the wash area, I again asked the 2nd young man and he just ignored me and turned his back to me. Well after going through the wash, my car is still dirty, my wheels look like they were not even washed. My car did not get clean on the initial wash and the vacuums were very weak. I asked for another wash which they cheerfully granted. While I was getting the second wash it stopped. I honked my horn several times and finally they came in and told me that their chain was off the track. I asked for a coupon for another wash and they handed me a coupon with a signature. I went to the Zips at the other end of Main street and that Zip's would not honor the coupon since they said it had not been signed by a manager. So I bought a car wash there to get the soap off my car. It did not remove all the soap, not even on the hood. A couple of weeks ago I had a great experience at a Zips in Alamogordo. I just went to your car wash on North Main in Roswell, New Mexico and I just had to tell you what a disgusting job I received. Nobody there to scrub the front of the car for bugs. Beware of using the Zips Carwash on North Main or any of them for that matter because this is how your vehicle could turn out. Both the Store Manager and the District Manager were rude and unwilling to do anything about it and said that there was zero chance that the damage happened at their car wash. I was in New Mexico for work starting in February and was scheduled to be there for a year. I signed up for a subscription to zips for the 32.35 monthly charge due to the fact I was driving a lot and New Mexico is very dusty. In March I was sent back to California. I stopped by the zips on 3616 N Main Street in Roswell and told the service tech my job was canceled and I was being sent home due to the corona virus. He went into the computer found my account, showed me and told me I was good and won't be charged again. On July 18, 2020 my card was charged 32.35 from zips. I'm not sure if the service tech really did cancel my subscription or if he froze my account, thinking he cancelled it. I tried calling membership services and they not only could not help me, but transferred me to the locations phone number that apparently is out of service. I tried calling several times at 575-627-2281, each time getting a recording that this number is no longer in service. Membership services finally gave me the number to the regional manager Roger Blackstone tand i left a message. I need a subscription cancel, return of the 32.35 back to my card and a confirmation number that my subscription is cancelled. I saw at the location that moving out of the area is a legitimate reason to cancel and I am 700 miles away from a zips. Update: zips took care of it, refunded my money in full. My only complaint is that calling customer service, they told me they cannot handle payments. Why does a customer service center exist if they cannot do that. Unfortunately this is the only big car wash in town but the owners don't maintain it. When it was champion car wash it was great. Now it's a hit or miss as to whether the car wash features even work-- sometimes there are parts that don't spin, wax that is not applied and even the dryer at the end of the wash doesn't work! Tried canceling my membership and it took 3 months e-mail constantly being answered by someone who couldn't help and passed it along. Received a email saying to rest assured that I would be reimbursed any fees I was charged after the initial email. Finally was able to cancel it and then asked for my refund and was told they changed the policy and they wouldn't be honoring their prior email and I would receive no refund or any car washes too make up for the 3 months I was charged. My car has also slipped off their tracks more than once and when I told them they acted like it was no big deal even though each time there was a car right behind me in the wash. This car wash is amazing. They are very helpful and 2 techs wet brushed the outside of my car before I went through the wash. Driving through Idaho and Utah in snow and ice left my BMW in pretty nasty condition. I appreciate the care and attention they gave my car. It was quick and they have free vacuums. This is the worse service and the worse carwash I have ever used, it was just terrible, don't waste your time and money. My car was not washed at all, it just went through untouched by the machine. The worker told me to go around again, he said he'll open the gate for me to go through again, I waited a long time, and finally I got off my car and went to ask him to open the gate, there was s long line of cars behind me. Terrible place the young boy asked the gal in the car in front of me to reverse since she put her car in drive. She backed right up into my car and damaged my camera- the manager Jeremy then proceeded to lie to police and asked the other customer to lie as well stating I was the one who drove up and ran into her. When in fact I had waited and had my car in park. I honked to let her and the boy know I was there but he proceeded to tell her to keep going. When I called the insuramce companies her insurance refused to pay stating it was my fault. Police were not helpful stating it was on private property and the car wash would not allow anyone of us to see the camera footage without a subpoena. My insurance adjuster went out but not until after 2 weeks and Jeremy stated the film has been deleted. Needless to say I paid for my cars damages. Took my vehicle thru the North location on the 18th and the South location on the 19th in Roswell, NM, purchased the Protect It wash both times and was very disappointed. My vehicle was still dirty after the first day so I tried the other location the next day. Same thing the crews that wipe down the vehicle do a lousy job. I have been thru other car washes with the same vehicle and it was clean no dirt seen. I don't recommend Zips to get you vehicle washed it is just a waste of money. read more

For the $19 (plus a $5 tip) I would expect a bit of time and attention for the front guy to treat for dead bugs, the gals drying my car had something that left a residue on my windshield and hood & the vacuums are nothing to write home about. Absolutely horrible. The 1st time I went thru, I could actually smell the mildew in the car wash, it was sickening. My Jeep was tossed around inside the wash like a rag doll to the extent it knocked over a bottle sitting on the floor. At one point the jarring was so bad I thought I was going to come out of the rails. When we exited, got out to check my bike hitch, which the car wash has a special sensor to adjust for, the brushes had actually bent a metal retaining clip that according to manufactures specs is supposed to handle up to 400 lbs of torque before failing. Well it's failed twice now & that clip is permanently bent out of shape. Irresponsible response from the manager & was told only option is to cancel my membership, duh!! Went for car wash which I have a monthly pay plan on Wednesday last week. The employee leading me into the car wash was completely not paying attention and was on his cell phone the whole time. He was waving for me to keep driving onto the rail while on his phone. I have been a customer at Zips for a few years. The employee started the rails and as my car was moving through it was getting stuck on the side rail. The employee yelled at me to put car in neutral which of course it already was and told him this. Still stuck on side rail that was moving I asked him what needed to be done as I was getting scared my car was going to be damaged. He yelled at me that he didn't know. I asked him if I should reverse a bit and he agreed I should. This released my car from the side and the wash proceeded. It was a very scary experience and I am canceling my subscription. For one the employee should not have been on his phone while working and maybe training employees on leading customers into car wash. Would give it a fourth star if the lead wash guy would spend an additional minute or two power washing the inner fender wells and knocking off the heavier bugs off the bumpers and grills... if the lead washer spent a couple more minutes spacing out the cars and trucks, I would give it 5 stars cuz then the dry guy at the end could dry off the vehicles with some extra attention. read more

This car wash sucks the machines fail to spry soap on your vehicle the vacuums have hardly any suction. I asked the kid working the entrance to just use the power sprayer to just rinse off my vehicle and he gave me the thumbs up and just walked away, I think if he just removed his ear buds he would have understood what I was telling him. When I exited the wash the kid just dried off the top half of the vehicle and I had to complete the rest of the vehicle. I have spoken to the manger on the N. Main car wash about the machines not all working in the wash and he really didn't care. When I tried to call the car wash attempting to talk to the owner all there phone line were disconnected! I will drive to the South Main car wash to get a better car wash! Also for the individual that had damage to the vehicle you can file in Magistrate Court, I had damage from another car wash here in town the Judge told the owner "I don't care how many signs you have posted on your property NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE your company is responsible for all damages. read more
