My bike went for service there with an obvious wobbly flat tire and brake issues. Picked it up 2 days later and paid the bill of $58 plus something . I asked what all was done to it and was told it's on the receipt. Receipt said quick tune. I asked what that consisted of and she didn't know but the young kid hesitated and told me gear adjustment and oil the chain, as he's putting air in my tires. I didn't ask for that I can do that myself , but when I asked about the leak in front tire he didn't know anything. I rolled my eyes and left. I still had no breaks, tire still wobbles and it went flat half way home. Not to mention I couldn't shift the gears . After looking at the chain it was not oiled . So I basically paid for a kid to put air in my tires and put on a plastic brake pad $58 dollar RIP OFF!!! Don't go there, they suck . I won't be back and will never recommend that anyone I know ever go there. read more

The guy who helped us (I can't remember his name) was very friendly and set us up with bike locks so we could lock up the bikes while visiting shops. The bikes were very fast and very nimble. We had a blast! I wouldn't select the same model of eBike next time since I prefer the more upright riding position and seat of a mountain bike style eBike. " if you come back, will give you a refund." we limped back got there . They said "You rode in the sand we cant give you a refund." No one said anything about riding in the sand. Visited the Houston area for a triathlon. My road bike was first assembled and later disassembled and packaged by Zipp E Bikes. (1) - assembling I was in no hurry so I dropped the bike off one day and picked it up next morning. The guys were quick and did a great job - bolts/screws/nuts tightened, chain lubed, tires pumped, etc. I didn't even have to adjust the seat. One minor item that I had to adjust was the position of the handlebar. Needless to say, there was no way for the mechanics to know how high I needed it so that's expected. The same applies to the seat post if there are no markings. I did notice that the front rim brake had its quick release lever opened. When I closed it, the brakes touched the rim so I just kept it in the open position. Obviously no effect on the actual braking. To be fair, I came like 30 mins earlier to pick up the bike so the guys probably didn't get a chance to adjust it. (2) - disassembling and packaging The guys held my box for a couple of weeks, that was nice. Disassembled and packaged the bike in a few hours - got it back the same day. Attached is the pic, you can see for yourself that it's packaged well - lose parts are taped, the frame is protected by the foam, the crank arms are covered, the pedals are wrapped and taped separately. Small shop with very limited personnel on maximum tourism days is a tough day for all of our small businesses in Galveston. Perfection of service and perfect communication, or time for either is not the same on max tourism days as the every day. Also, another comment about being told that some of the bikes folks are looking at are "pieces of sh*t". Hey! Be glad they told you the truth!! OMG!!! Soooooo much fun. I rode a Rad Power Mini Step through for 2 hours and it seemed like 30 minutes. It's VERY zippy and brakes work very well. I even charged my phone on it too. I rode on the sea wall and all the way down the sand from east beach to past Pleasure Pier. If you want to be exhilarated, get a tan, feel free as can be, RENT ONE!! You wo t regret it. Seth, the owner dude, is pretty cool too. He is super helpful teaching how the bike works beforehand and the rental includes a mandatory helmet but the helmets are cool too. We happened to spot this shop during our meander down to the Strand - and I am so glad we did! The tech on hand adjusted my husband's derailleur, making the rest of our ride much smoother for him, and did a quick replacement job on my brakes, completely eliminating the screech I'd been dealing with for several weeks. The tech was friendly, polite, and told us about various great biking routes through the island. Since we're recent transplants, hearing from someone more familiar was very much appreciated. Here in Galveston we are fortunate to have 3 bicycle shops. All three are good, and are specialized to their niche. Zipp E-bikes is where the best bike I have ever owned will go for service now. My trophy bike. Seth did very good work, very quickly, and was extremely respectful of the bike I waited my lifetime to own. I have let Island Bicycle and Zipp E-bikes work on it now. Both did good work. Island Bicycle is so busy these days that I decided to try Zipp E. Seth turned it around in 24hrs and was super cool and careful. I really appreciate it. I recommend Seth and Zipp E-bikes for service for sure, and they have some particularly rad  SE bikes in the shop right now for new bikes. I always recommend Island Bicycle for Beach Cruisers. Waited a bit to write this review because it took me awhile to get over my shock at how the man running this shop spoke to me. My husband told him that we were interested in buying an electric bike and which model this one was. He told us that these were all "Pieces of s***" and walked back into the store. We continued to look at the bike and we're trying to take measurements to see how different models would fit us. He came out of the store and yelled at us to quit touching the bikes. Just quit. He never offered to help us at all. I don't know how any store can expect to sell an item that costs thousands of dollars if they treat potential customers like this! read more

This is a few weeks late, but...#momlife. My son and I brought our bikes to Galveston while we were there for spring break. We stopped by Zipp E-bikes to pick up some locks to use while we were riding around. Seth AND his daughter delivered the BEST customer service.
