I ended up getting jasmine tea (in the most adorable ladybug tea set!), along with a Liege waffle and berry jam. The Liege waffle came out warm. It had a great texture and its sweetness with the berry jam pleasantly offset the slight bitterness of the jasmine tea. I was there at around 8AM. There were other customers, but it was not too crowded, nor loud. Most people were reading while enjoying their tea or coffee. As always, this café is adorable, and definitely a repeat destination whenever I'm in town!

Blackbird Down Town can get packed full stop, but the service, while a bit chaotic at times, moves things along and if you're wanting to skip the chaos you can just get anything to go, which I ended up doing. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Okay yes, it is most definitely overpriced. Like a lot, evidenced by my medium portion of Tikka Tikka Chicken Curry costing a staggering 15,60 CHF. That's insane even for Laussane. No Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? While expensive, this was an excellent dish. There wasn't an abundance of chicken but the veggies were so good that they blended right in. On top of that, it didn't fall into the trap of having too much sauce, and it instead blended just right with the quantity of rice. Two Stars. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? I would. Not great. Fries and salad were fine. Unfortunately, that did not mean that their vegetarian burgers were any better - my GF's opinion of their vegetarian option was not that they were not as amazing either.

Atmosphere 4/5: Nothing fancy or too weird. The restaurant is well located and close to the main Bus station "Saint Francois". The place itself looks like a modern ish Cafe Restaurant. Food 5/5: I was delighted both times. First time, I had a Salmon with Mashed Potatoes and I had the second time, a Hashi Parmentier which was EXCELLENT. It's one of their specialty there and it comes with a Salad for 18 CHF. Service 5/5: The staff is friendly and professional. They make sure to accomadate you to the best they can get you. The service is quiet fast if you're short on time. Last but not least, make sure to reserve your tables during Summer time on the Terrace ahead of time because they tend to be most of the time full by the time you get there even at 11am.
