A nice neighborhood spot but on a night which wasn't overly busy, the service was very lackluster. I think they may have just been down a server or two, but the server behind the bar, who was a mere 5 feet from me, kept calling out "He'll be right with you" quite a few times, referring to a server traveling back and forth from the outside to the inside. The server apologized for forgetting me -- several times -- because it was upon seating (no one returned to take my order until I flagged him down, no one cleared the remnants of the last diner until I moved the plates to the bar area), during service (he didn't ask if I wanted another glass of wine when my glass was empty), and at check out (he didn't know I was still waiting for my check and that no, no one had processed my payment yet). Just had my first night here. Was invited by a friend to join a trivia night. I was honestly a little nervous and didn't know what to expect. Immediately entering the door, the owners were gracious and greeted us. Everyone was warm and welcoming and the staff was really funny! Everyone got along great and I realized that everyone was really close here. I could tell the staff and owners really care about this place and it means a lot to them. You could be excused for believing that all food and drink options in Corte Madera are centered around the highway or in its two big malls because most here are. But once upon a time the center of Corte Madera was elsewhere - pretty much right where Zinz Wine Bar stands today - and the locals appear to be casting their vote for this, the non-mall option. Zinz sits just above an intersection connecting Corte Madera with Mill Valley and Larkspur. As many times as I've been I've yet to sit inside. The tables out front provide a nice atmosphere and front row seats for the excellent live music often featured. That the music is performed at decibels over which one can easily converse makes Zinz a lively, friendly hub. On a recent evening at 6 p.m. the tables were full. Some welcome warm weather coupled with longer daylight hours, a band, and an excellent wine selection (mostly $14-$18/glass) had Zinz feeling like the secret-but-well-known-to-locals spot to be. The extensive listing of wines by the glass (or bottle) is accompanied by food offerings which appear mostly variations on charcuterie/cheese boards. A sweet spot, cost-wise, is the potato chips and French Onion Dip. That, some wine, and a side of the Castelvetrano Olives has served as dinner more than once. You can probably find everything you want at the local Corte Madera malls but what you can't find is what's here at Zinz; all the more reason to stop in sometime soon. read more

The ladies at Zinz were so personable. I was happy that my honey had planned a wine down with drinks in between our Museum and dinner plans. I was More than delighted that this was the place he chose! Due to current restrictions we sat outside, on a perfectly sunny afternoon at the most quaint little cafe table. Our hostess was super helpful in explaining the drink list and letting me try wines suitable to my taste. I love a spot where the people alone have the power to keep you coming back. I can tell that most patrons were familiar faces and if they were not: that the host would be sure she remembered for next time (even us)! They kept our drinks filled and checked in on us regularly. The wine selection was very nice, I don't usually leave wine bars with bottles for home (let's be real - I'm often too tipsy to recall the nuances of what I've had), but in this particular case I left with a bottle of Roero Arnes Vietti - it's absolutely light, fresh, crisp, floral and I'd imagine would pair perfectly with seafood. How stinkin' CUTE is this place?! What an adorable find in the quaint little neighborhood of Corte Madera! I usually have a meeting for work every other month in Marin County. Typically, my meetings take up about half of my day and then I'm going back over the bridge to Oakland. But on this very day, I was cursed with having a dreaded all day meeting. Not wanting to battle the nightmarish traffic, I decided to do some Dora the Explorin' and seek out a nice little bar where I could unwind for a bit before I made the trek back home. A Yelp search revealed that this little cutie was nearby, so I drove on down and decided to give them a try. I was instantly enamored by the stunning décor! The walls are colored in a beautiful lavender and lined with tons of trendy wine bottles. There's a private room in the back that can be used for small groups or for an intimate setting for two. The bar is open and lit by the cutest bright blue lamps! The brown leather sofa chairs and unique artwork on the wall presents a bit of a retro feel. This spot is definitely frequented mostly by local residents and business owners who live and work in the area. However, I didn't feel like an outsider during any portion of my time spent there. The service was spot on! I can't remember the name of the young gentleman who was assisted me that evening, but he was really sweet and accommodating. The other patrons at the bar were super friendly and I basically chatted with them for the entire evening up until closing time! You know I can't forget about the most important element here; the WINE! Yes baby... it's pretty damn good! They actually carry a nice variety of wines here considering their small size and remote location. They also have a bangin' little happy hour from 3-7 Wednesday through Friday and all day on Tuesdays! They offer $6 house wines, $3 IPA's, $2 off wine flights and discounted cheese plates. Count me IN! I didn't try any of their cheese plates or snacks this time around, but I will say that they have a nice little selection available ranging from cheese boards, to charcuterie plates, to chips and dips! Another thing to note is that they offer half glasses of wine! Did I mention how cute their wine glasses are? I'm a sucker for some nice red in a sexy little wine glass! Serve it on UP! Since I came during happy hour, I had a few glasses of their happy hour red which happened to be a very tasty Tempranillo! I was the perfect ending to extensive meeting! I've driven by this wine bar a zillion times going up and over Camino Alto. For some reason, I decided to stop on on a whim for a glass of wine last night. This wine bar is AMAZING!! The place was buzzing on a Tuesday night. They have an amazing, well curated selection of wines by the glass and small bites. The almonds and cheese plate were delicious! There is a bar, tall boy tables and a few lounge chairs where you can chat and sip away the evening with friends. It reminds me of some of the wine bars in Paris and is a refreshing change from the bar scene at local restaurants in Marin. Kyle, the bartender, was incredibly knowledgable about all of the wines and had excellent recommendations. I am definitely going to make this my go-to place and #1 choice for wine whether out alone, or with friends. I highly recommend Zinz Wine Bar. read more

Although we have passed this establishment on numerous occasions, this was our first time visiting this quaint and well-appointed establishment. We were pleasantly surprised by the selection of wines and the courteous service. At the outset, our two dogs were greeted and provided with a bowl of water. Splendid wine and snacks. Service however pretty disappointing. Always love to see a youthful staff but not with the sense of entitlement that was brought by the younger gentleman serving us. Attitude was given when ordering and even more when the bill came.
