Went there tonight, 12/7/25 and stopped at the deli for some lunch meat. As I'm standing there, two of the deli staff saw me and failed to wait on me while they continued their conversation. The one individual has shown this behavior before and on a regular basis. In my view he should be placed on a performance improvement plan or fired. Being sensitive to the owners, firing one person does not mean you will get someone better in his place and I really do sympathize. Still this guy's behavior is most likely costing the owner revenue. I will go there and compliment those employees that have been kind and attentive; they need to be recognized. The other, well that's up to management. read more

The kind of grocery store that reminds me of my neighborhood Safeway in California back in the '90s, before everything had to be ultra-modern and impersonal. Nostalgic, well stocked and well managed. It's the type of place you want to shop at, knowing it's a neighborhood staple and not run by gross money-over-everything stockholder goblins. They have a decent deli, great baked goods, fresh produce year-round, and a pretty solid meat selection. They use paper bags and they are free!!! Small store so you can fit in and out quickly! Deli staff is slow but meat is good! Sushi is great but price's definitely went up, as every other grocery store. read more

Just returned from going to the Zingos grocery store in Pike Creek Delaware on Polly Drummond Hill Rd. and will NEVER RETURN. I live less than a mile away and I won't go back just for one item which is why I went in the first place. Normally I would shop at the store because I like supporting small business but now I will be driving an extra 8 miles one way to the new Wegman's on 141 passing two Acme markets on my way. My issue started as soon as I got out of my car ( I guess a man with a beard wearing a cap, sweatpants, and a hoodie is automatically a thief. So the overweight bald guy with a white dress shirt ( management only attire) started following me until I went and checked out ( 4 isles open and all were available, that should have been a red flag ) so after I PAID for the 1 item the older retired looking jerk looked at the manager and said "He had potential" like as in a potential shoplifter? Really? I will no longer be supporting this small business. read more

I worked here a couple years back, and let me be the first to say Zingo's is by far the worst establishment you could buy groceries from. Not only are the conditions for preparing dairy, deli, and produce all disgusting and repulsive, but so is the management. A majority of the workers here are very young, maybe college aged. That might seem like a good thing right? Giving jobs to young people, so that they can afford to go to school and grow their lives, it's a great idea, right? Well in theory yes. However due to the negligence and outright hostility that the management shows towards new hires, these young employees have absolutely no incentive to do their jobs to any degree of acceptable measure. Only shop here if you want to support the most disrespectful and hateful management who get payed to boss around teenagers who have little to no respect for them, or if you want food that is prepared in rooms that are occupied by garbage bags, and do NOT get cleaned, ever. If I could give this store a zero, I would. Went there for a few things, bad idea. Went to the deli, only one person was "working". The others were ignoring the customers. Went through the check out and Mackenzie, my cashier did not acknowledge me at all. She did not help me bag, just pushed the stuff towards me. When I was done bagging my stuff, she handed me my receipt and turned her back on me! Rude rude rude. Will not go back. read more

Zingos's has been my grocery store for the past 30 years living in Pike Creek. Most of the time I love coming here. If there's one area of improvement needed, it's the deli counter. There are some great employees there however I feel like I'm mostly a bother. Not ideal but decided to purchase pre-sliced deli meat. The store is otherwise wonderful. Zingo's has made big improvements in their produce section. They provided curbside pickup during the early part of the pandemic that kept many vulnerable people safe. Zingo's is a valuable member of the community offering needed products and delicious baked goods to its customers. I had a bad experience once but have had many many positive ones since. First I have shopped at Zingo's for over 30 years. I've tried to ignore that the store isn't clean as it should be, just check out the bin for used wipes in the meat department. But this morning the bakery staff and another staff member were not wearing masks. Guess they don't care about their customer's health. They have made improvements to the fixtures and the staff is no longer mostly teenagers. But I won't be going back. Not a welcoming place any longer. When you serve the public, it isn't about you the employee and your feelings. For those who feel they are done with COVID well the truth is, it's COVID that isn't done with us. read more

Zingo's is all about substance, not style. If you want fancy international ingredients or 14 different types of ketchup, head to Acme down the street. Make sure you knock off an armored bank truck on the way too. Looking for the basics to stock up your pantry and don't want to max out your credit card? Then Zingo's is the place for you. One thing I love - no special supercard or special buyer club cards. Everyone gets the same weekly deals (10 for $10, etc). I have enough crap in my wallet already. I've been a customer here for years, but recently I had surgery and I am not allowed to drive. I've used the curbside service twice so far so that someone could pick up my order and could not be happier about it. The produce is excellent. The free service is such a bargain. I am not sure when I will be able to drive so I will definitely use it again. In comparison, Instacart is a rip-off. Heather is the best, if my order is unclear in any way, she always calls for clarification. read more

Zingos probably has the best meat department of the area supermarkets, the guys are always out there checking and chatting with customers, and they'll gladly prepare any cut of meat to your exact specifications. Ask for Tim. The selections are good without being overwhelming, and the produce is always fresh and of high quality. The soda here is kind of expensive, but they probably have some of the best frozen food deals around. If you live in Pike Creek, it's worth doing your main shopping here and rounding the rest out at Acme on Limestone Rd. read more

After grabbing a slimy, partially liquid onion today I started to notice things I'd normally overlook. All 14 red onions were soft so I picked a yellow one. They had two kinds of cucumbers: ones 20" long and wrapped in plastic, and tiny 5" organic cucumbers also wrapped in plastic (2 for $3.59 or something). They were out of salad mixes and a large section of salad shelves was empty. All the bananas were green and not ready to eat. In the checkout line I noticed the bottom of my cereal box had been crushed and ripped like someone ran over it. I left the line to get a new box. Oat milk was on sale, one was left at the very back of the fridge. I'd never noticed how dirty their refrigerator is until I put my head in to grab the milk. Greek yogurt was on sale but staff hadn't moved them forward and I had to go into to the stock room to ask for help. The teenage employee climbed on the ledge of the bottom shelf to reach them, sneakers next to the yogurt. I picked up a bag of dry cat food and noticed one of the bags had a 5" tear that had been taped with clear tape and reshelved. I'll still shop here for convenience, great sale prices (dry cat food was $4 off, for instance), and quick checkout (especially compared to Acme in Pike Creek) but judging from the way the manager made a point to watch me as I grabbed the bag of cat food and walked to the checkout line (I'd not realized I had enough cash for cat food so went back for it after checking out the first time) the manager seems to be more focused on theft prevention than making sure the product is satisfactory and the place is clean. If I were manager, I'd fire myself if I didn't hire a new produce manager, give the kids goofing off in the stock room a checklist they are required to complete by x:00, walk around every aisle once an hour doing random checks, deep clean the entire fridge, make sure all products are in stock and no shelves are empty, and double check everything shelved to make sure items with damaged packaging are not being sold. Only when those things are done to my satisfaction would I stand by the cash registers eyeballing customers. Kidding about the last part. That's just creepy. read more

I love zingos and have gone there my whole life. Produce and meat are always fresh and great prices. They've expanded and shifted things around to include higher end Deli stuff and other new options. Would be a 5 however they don't have quite as much as larger places. Still, would rather support them and spot shop for vegan and other specialized stuff. Meat, potatoes, eggs, dairy, and snacks - no place better. And their fried chicken is vastly superior to Acme. read more

Great store, fair prices, I'll agree the seafood dept is pretty lacking. BUt I dont buy my seafood at a supermarket anyway- there are always great deals adn everyone gets the same deal- no coupons, etc. A little small and narrow aisles, but hey I'll deal. The only complaint is that the young teenage girls at the checkout lanes are always yacking it up in front of the customers, talking about what boys is dating what girl and what their boyfriends are up to, etc, Typical teenage stuff I know- but they should refrain from that while in earshot of customers, and concentrate on the work at hand. I live only 5 minutes away from Zingos, so it's always been convenient. Zingos has always had reasonable prices, the building is small and manageable, and customers are not treated impersonally. However, some of the staff just has a bad attitude. I saw a few of them taking pictures of customers, which is extremely inappropriate and unacceptable. read more

I used to frequent zingos. I usually don't mind the slightly higher prices because I enjoy supporting a local business but dealing with the staff has become very tiresome. My wife or I use this location a few times a week. Invariably the "experienced" females at the register are not very pleasant. It seems like they are more interested in not working or retiring. I just left the store and was waited on by Rosemary at the Express checkout. She did not greet me or the customer behind me. She did not smile and was not pleasant when I asked the question about using my debit card as a credit. However she did say "have a good day" in a cold icy manner without any eye contact. It is a shame because the weekend help at the registers are quite pleasant and show appreciation for your being a customer. read more

my favorite quick in and out grocery store. if you know exactly what you want you can get in and out in less than half the time of big super markets. the selection is not bad for a small grocery line. they have delicious home made meals packed and ready to heat, plus a great selection of sugar free fresh baked goods. read more

I used to go here years ago. I lived in Drummond Hill Apts and it was close. Moved and bought a place, so go to Acme now. Zingos has improved over the years. The two main complaints I have, is that the Manager, Joe, is just plain rude. Believe me my bar isn't that high, it is a grocery store. But he has the personality of a box of hammers. Also, since Foxwood Apts started accepting section 8, the clientele has changed. Foxwood has had a number of problems and it spills over to the shopping center. Most of the customers were super-nice. Just a few were problems. I go to Acme, now. I have not found the prices higher on sales. I do miss the more homey atmosphere of Zingos. But between the rude, clueless manager and the sketchy shopping center (surrounding developments are fine) I go to Acme. I had gone to this store since 1990 long before it was Zing's. read more
