I purchased a new 286 Sea Fox Commander Center Console boat from Palmetto Boat Sales, and my…read moreexperience was horrible from the day I paid for the boat, through the delivery process, and beyond as I worked literally for years trying to get warranty items fixed and any reasonable communication from the service department. My boat had over 30 verified and documented items either break or not function from the day I took delivery, such as the steering, water pumps, radar, leaks, paint overspray, sonar INOP, Auto Pilot non-functioning, toilet not functioning, 2' X 2' port-side gelcoat damage from factory, etc. Every water, bilge, live well and macerator pump on my boat had to be replaced within the first 6 months, as well as the power steering assist pump (2 times). It was virtually impossible to get a timely response from the dealership service department. Keep in mind the boat was unusable or not fully functional during these times. I repeatedly asked for a close inspection of the hull of my boat, which routinely had water in it. Literally a foot of water would be sitting in my hull when I would arrive at my boat to go fishing in the morning. Each time it was blown off by the service department as some sort of spill over from the engines, or fresh water draining or ice melting. After over a year of back and forth frustration with the service department, and no resolution, a mechanic at the marina I keep my boat noticed water leaking into the hull where a trim tab was not sealed at the factory. Supposedly this was inspected by the service department on one of my many requests to have it fixed. So essentially, my boat for two years had been suffering from severe, undesigned salt water intrusion into the entire hull area... battery cables, electrical system cables and wires, pumps, all were compromised by being completely submerged in salt water for many hours at a time... not how any boat is designed!! I met with the owner of Palmetto Boats and a representative of Sea Fox, who agreed to replace all affected items and make the boat "right". Once out of the office, my issues were turned back over to the service department again, and the same delays and lack of communication about the condition and repair of my boat repeated itself! I again met with the owners, who essentially blew me off as being tired of listening to me. Essentially, I spent $125K on a boat that was never as-advertised. Sea Fox's answer was to spray it with Salt-Away, and the owner of Palmetto Boats told me "...he had owned lots of boats, and I should expect to have problems when a boat is in a saltwater environment." Unacceptable answer to me, but they could have cared less... they had my money. If avoidable in any way, DO NOT purchase a boat from this dealership unless you have your own service department, mechanic, and don't plan on receiving any customer service or repairs after you pay for it!

We drove across the country to pick it up so communication and timing throughout the process were essential. I could have not been happier with how Hector got everything taken care of. He would pick my calls even outside regular business hours. He even helped me out with the registration process after the purchase. I strongly recommend buying a boat through Hector at this location as it was tremendous quality of service and outstanding expertise.

I will start off by saying my experiences at Longshore have been both good and bad. Purchasing, was…read morea bit rocky due to under prepared salesmen at the Charleston Boat Show in 2020 (some promises were made that they simply couldn't keep). But we got past that. The follow-on scheduled maintenance periods were nice. Decent availability, and they were willing to work with my timing to get the boat in and out. Come time for real warranty work. My Robalo R242 had some bonding issues with the center console below the deck and the T-top was structurally failing because of it. Michael Callahan led me on from July 2022 to October 2022 telling me that the work would be covered under warranty blah blah blah. This is nearly 40 emails back and forth of me checking every week, him apologizing for the delay, rinse and repeat. Finally, in October, Michael kindly lets me know that he's doing me a favor by only making me pay $6200 for the repairs. I contacted Robalo, I spoke with the owner of Longshore (Chris is a really nice guy), and I made sure that the issue was confronted. Magically enough, the following week the boat was on a truck headed to Robalo's factory for WARRANTY work! While the boat was away, Michael wrote me out another quote of over $2000 for stuff that I mostly did myself BEFORE THE BOAT WENT IN because I got tired of waiting on Longshore to do it. (Like $300 to secure the foot rest that they improperly installed). The boat came back to Robalo January 18th, and the only things needing to be done were installation of the GPS (was also warranty), and gel coat repairs which would start within the "next few days". THIS WAS TOLD TO ME ON THE 18TH BY MICHAEL CALLAHAN. They broke the acrylic dashboard while installing the new GPS (Stuff happens, not too upset about it. Checks with the rest of my interactions with my amazing "Service Advisor" Michael). I send an email today to Michael to see what the status is, guess what!?!? Another apology for the delay and now, their gel coat guy is "having a personal problem" and will try to get to it early next week. I am completely baffled, and I'm absolutely disgusted with my "Service Advisor" and how this has been handled. Good luck at the boat show! Take your chances, take your luck, but for the love of all that is holy, don't take Michael Callahan as your Service Advisor at Longshore Boats.
