Our renter moved out and the carpets smelled of dog. We were getting ready to sell the house and…read morewanted a top level carpet cleaning. We went with Chem-Dry based on their advertisements for their pet treatment and Chastain Chem-Dry specifically based on their Angie's List reviews and their listing on the Chem-Dry site that said they used truck mounted equipment. I called to see if someone could come out and give me an estimate. When I called the owner answered and said that would not be necessary, he could provide an estimate over the phone. He gave me an estimate of $319.00. I told him I had a coupon for 5 rooms and the hall for $199. He said he factored that in plus $40 for the extra room and two stairs. That made the stair cleaning $80.00. Kevin arrived on time, said he could apply pet treatment on the whole house for $150 and began the work. We did not monitor Kevin and he finished in 1.5 hours. We did note that he did not use our water while on-site, did not use truck mounted equipment, vacuumed approximately 1500 square feet of carpet, cleaned 1500 square feet of carpet to include 15 steps, identified and applied the pet treatment and raked the carpets all in 90 minutes. Kevin stated that it could take up to two weeks for the smell to go away. After one week, we did not feel the pet treatment was working. We took a UV light and could see untreated urine stains along with areas where treatment was applied. We also did not "feel" the carpets were clean, especially the steps. We spoke with the owner who said to give it a little more time and that Kevin was a good employee. He stated that we should have "requested" truck mounting service if we had that desire. He stated he did not recall having a discussion on pet treatment when I placed the order. I told him he specifically stated that one gallon of the treatment covered about 12-18 softball size stains and that I believed the two gallons applied was not sufficient. He did not offer, at this point to redo the work and, I must admit, I was unsure of what I wanted done, looking to him for advice. Five days later, we decided to rent a Rug Doctor. While I do not consider a Rug Doctor anywhere near as good as professional cleaning, I was interested on what would come out of the carpet. The thinner carpet, two years old, produced some dirt but seemed OK. The thicker carpet was much dirtier and the stairs were filthy, like they had not been cleaned. I contacted the owner the next day. He said Kevin believed he did a good job but was willing to have him come back. I told the owner the carpets "looked" and smelled much better after the Rug Doctor treatment than the Chem-Dry treatment and described the amount of dirt I got out of the thicker carpets and stairs. I told him that I did not believe the stairs were cleaned. But, since I did not want them to return, we were at impasse. Some data points: It takes my wife or I at least 30 minutes just to vacuum the 1500 square feet of carpet. It took me two hours to clean the carpets with the Rug Doctor plus an hour for the steps. To do everything Chem-Dry claimed to do in 90 minutes seems super human! Bottom Line: Instead of paying Chem-Dry for their pet treatment, go to home depot and buy Nature's Miracle for 1/3 the cost. Get a UV light to find the stains. After treating the stains, either use a Rug Doctor or get professional steam cleaning for half the cost of Chem-Dry.

In dealing with Paces Ferry Builders over the past few years, it has become apparent that Guy…read moreCherwonuk is not only an inadequate builder, he is also a crook. He comes across as a nice person, but he only does what is best for him and he will not take responsibility for his construction mistakes. He will consistently blame others and will fabricate reasons to avoid paying his bills. Many clients have questioned his ability to deliver a quality product and have either proceeded with legal action or completely walked away from their project. The overall construction is often to a lower standard than clients were promised and there are instances where there is the potential for future issues to develop as a result of structural and grading inaccuracies. In this market, clients should expect a relatively high level of craftsmanship and should not get intimidated when corrections need to be made. Unfortunately, Guy gets confrontational, threatening and there is no accountability on his part. And, as a general observation, it is very difficult to get him or his team to return your messages, especially when they are at fault. In my opinion, working with Guy will not be a good experience and I would not recommend Paces Ferry Builders to anyone. There are many properties in the area that are worth more than the headache you will go through dealing with someone who shouldn't be in the industry.

I was very specific in asking that I had a renter coming in my house and needed all carpets cleaned and and entire house deep clean. I asked could he recommend someone or did he do deep cleaning as well and he said yes he does do that . I said i needed someone experienced and really needed the house and drawers and cabinets cleaned. Reginald assured me he could do this and to send pictures. I suggested he come out to the house and see it himself. Again he assured me it would not be a problem and we set a price of 600. When he arrived he was mad that he had already quoted me a price to clean the cabinets and house however he was going to honor the price. When I arrived to see the home. I asked him who had cleaned the house and he said His son had helped him. I have had this carpet placed in almost every classroom and office space as an educator. It was filthy, especially around the fringes. Although I would vacuum it and sweep it, the wear and tear of the years inside a classroom took its toll. Last year after we had to leave for the massive stay at home orders, I cleaned my room and took things to a storage because I knew I would move to another school in the fall. I rolled up the rug and threw it into a storage facility. Well, I did not think to wrap it in plastic because I never had before and the rug was fine for another school year, but this particular time, moths had found their way to my rug and had a field day. Jonquil Carpet Cleaning & Restoration knew exactly what to do and then some. They treated the carpet, cleaned the fringes on the sides to a state that looked as if the rug was new, and it was a reasonable price. I am so pleased.
