The parking can get chaotic because the spots are crowded in some areas. Plus many folks don't take the time to park between the lines. The lanes are also tight. Once on the field, the soccer fields are not marked. So when the soccer league gives you a map, make sure to screenshot it and save it to your smart phone. The fields this year (March/April 2023) could use a bit of deweeding and more grass care. Field H where my daughter plays is fairly uneven & bumpy. Additionally, if it ever rains here, the fields will surely flood as all 8 soccer fields are in this giant pit-like situation. While there are bleachers, they are a bit on the small side. I suggest bringing foldout chairs. There is also the following: + restrooms + BBQ Grill + pavillions + lights + picnic tables + and a concrete walking trail.

In Jefferson's defense, it is on the south side of town - meaning it's too far for most Hobbsans to consider - plus it's tucked away in a lesser known area. I used to teach at the elementary nearby over 10 years ago... I don't recall any of this being within short walking distance of the school: + basketball courts + bbq grills + lights + pavilions + picnic tables + playground + restrooms + sand volleyball courts + soccer goals + youth baseball fields (still referred to as Bensing Park) + & a .80-mile walking path I give this city park 4 stars because while it has great amenities, it is not at all debris-free nor is it in a particularly nice neighborhood.

On the morning of February 1, 2026, my youngest kiddo and I drove to check it out. It is a very clean park in a decent neighborhood. Again, not the best neighborhood, not the worst. I refrained from taking a photo of the pavilion as there was a transient eating his meal there on that peaceful morning. This looks like a swell park for a picnic with younger kiddos. It features: + bbq grill + a large pavilion + picnic tables + two different playground areas + trash receptacles There is a nice large parking lot too. Happy February!

There is free parking on the north & south ends as well as street parking. I remember what this park looked like when I was in high school. It has seen a major improvement over the years. There is a walking path here as well. The Hobbs Veterans Memorial is also within walking distance as is the New Mexico State Police office, an old national guard armory, and a motor vehicle department office. This state park offers short-term RV camping. I have never experienced camping out here, but there are several amenities that I've noticed... + clean grounds + dump station + BBQ grills + disc golf course + pavilions + picnic tables + playground equipment + restrooms + sand volleyball courts Actually I agree with my brother's girlfriend - this park has the best sand volleyball pit in all of Hobbs. TIPS + leashed dogs are allowed + the Lovington Highway Health Walk is nearby... it's a concrete walking/running path that runs parallel with a Lovington Highway. Good for dogs, bikes, scooters, roller blades, etc.

It didn't get open until about 12:30 PM for us to decorate for my future sister-in-law and my brother's first-born's baby shower today, July 18, 2026. Two hours seems like a lot of time, but it goes by quick. As I was setting up my dessert table, I noticed these two massive cockroaches. Oh, I can't stand those things. And dude, I know how hard those can be to get rid of but seriously it was pretty gross to see in the kitchen/bar/buffet/restroom area. So those were the major minuses. This facility has a lot of pluses going for it, but those two things weigh heavy in my rating. I mean cock roaches are known for spreading diseases. And the fact that they charge $175 per hour with a 5-hour minimum on the date that we chose plus a $250 deposit. Whew. I am probably being very generous with four stars, but it's primarily because we were allowed to have alcohol on the premises with no security guard and they allowed us to facilitate the baby "gender" reveal with a smoke bomb out on the front patio.
