There is free parking on the north & south ends as well as street parking. I remember what this park looked like when I was in high school. It has seen a major improvement over the years. The landscaping & shade trees look beautiful & healthy.

Marshall Memorial Park lies on the northeast side of Eunice, NM…read more It was deeded to the City of Eunice in 1948 by W. H. & Hazel Turner, according to a memorial plaque at 12th St and Ave Q. An additional sign at 9th St and Ave Q stated that the park is "a cooperative project with N. M. Natural Resources Dept & U. S. Department of Interior." This sign is weather-beaten and deteriorating. This park offers several amenities for the small desert town. PROS + playgrounds for both smaller & bigger kids + swing sets + shade trees & grassy areas + dogs on leashes allowed - dog waste bags are available near Ave Q + basketball courts + little league baseball field + softball field + gazebos & other shaded structures + picnic tables & benches + bbq grills + small rodeo arena + ample street parking + a walking/running path + seasonal outdoor public pool was nearby CONS - near the walking/running path, a sign says "no bicycles, scooters..." and other non-sense on the concrete sidewalk. Why?! No parent ever wants to see this because this is one of the safest areas for rollerblades and scooters where it's actually smooth. Kids don't understand this stupid rule either. - could be cleaner - trash cans do not have lids - rv park nearby I saw some porta potties nearby where construction of some kind was occuring, but I never saw brick & mortar restrooms. My daughters and I came here on their last day of Winter Break on 1/9/2024 while Eunice Schools was in session so it was nice to have the park to ourselves aside from two path users.

On the morning of February 1, 2026, my youngest kiddo and I drove to check it out. It is a very clean park in a decent neighborhood. Again, not the best neighborhood, not the worst. I refrained from taking a photo of the pavilion as there was a transient eating his meal there on that peaceful morning. This looks like a swell park for a picnic with younger kiddos. It features: + bbq grill + a large pavilion + picnic tables + two different playground areas + trash receptacles There is a nice large parking lot too. Happy February!

Harry McAdams Park is located on the north end of Hobbs, NM…read more It is right next to Rockwind Community Links, a popular public golf course with a grill/restaurant with indoor/outdoor dining on location. There is a walking path here as well. The Hobbs Veterans Memorial is also within walking distance as is the New Mexico State Police office, an old national guard armory, and a motor vehicle department office. This state park offers short-term RV camping. I have never experienced camping out here, but there are several amenities that I've noticed... + clean grounds + dump station + BBQ grills + disc golf course + pavilions + picnic tables + playground equipment + restrooms + sand volleyball courts Actually I agree with my brother's girlfriend - this park has the best sand volleyball pit in all of Hobbs. TIPS + leashed dogs are allowed + the Lovington Highway Health Walk is nearby... it's a concrete walking/running path that runs parallel with a Lovington Highway. Good for dogs, bikes, scooters, roller blades, etc.

Even free of trash debris when I visited, but - like most parks in Hobbs - the surrounding neighborhood is not particularly nice. - No parking lot lines. - No dog waste bags available (at least I never saw them on 5.20.2025) PROS + Basketball court + Bbq grills + Benches + Lights + Pavilions + Picnic tables + Playground + Walking path (concrete, but not long) Please pack it in, pack it.

Heizer Park in Hobbs, NM is about the same as it has ever been…read more The city park is located on the southernmost side of town in a somewhat dilapidated neighborhood. There are a few newer additions which is great. Here's what Heizer offers: + basketball courts + baseball field (it's a bit rundown but at least there's a backstop) + BBQ pits + gazebos + playgrounds (one for smaller kids & one for bigger kids) + picnic tables + public restrooms + swings (including one for babies) It's also supposedly dog-friendly, however, I didn't see any dog waste receptacles. The park is decent, no frills, missing artwork & aesthetics, and has some graffiti. On 2/12/2024, though, it was debris-free which is an improvement to how it has been since I was in high school over 20 years ago. The biggest bummer was the decision to close down the nearby Heizer Pool last year. My friends & I had memories there. That's what kids do - make memories for adulthood. Bring back Heizer Pool so the future generations can experience the hot summer sun & dunk our brothers' heads in the water like we did! (No siblings were seriously hurt as a result of said actions.)

Bowling is such great fun with my goofball family…read more.. Bel Aire Bowl has been around since I was a little girl growing up in Hobbs. Tonight (8/25/2023) we spent about $140 on two lanes, nine players, and borrowing of bowling shoes. The place hasn't changed much. By that I mean it needs a makeover. Lol. Still, it is super fun at night because they keep the lights low with lots of fluorescent & neon colors moving in disco ball-like patterns. The shoes have been replaced in recent years. The women's restroom was mostly clean. A baby changing station was available. It's next door to a fabulous antique shop, Sonic Drive-In, Exxon gas station, & Big Lots. They also offer these dinosaur ramps for younger bowlers. My 3-year-old niece loved that. The staff members are extremely friendly, patient, & helpful. The snack bar is available. Thank you to my brother for loading the kids up on sugar and passing them back off on us tired and haggard parents. Uncles are punks like that. Lol. There's ample parking. They are open until midnight on the weekends. During Halloween, part of the bowling alley becomes haunted maze. Happy strikes & spares!

The Lovington Highway Health Walk is a public trail in north Hobbs, NM…read more It runs parallel to the railroad tracks, crossing over them in some areas. The entire length which begins relatively close to the Rockwind Community Links golf course to the end which is at the intersection of Lovington Hwy and Bender Blvd comes out to 7.15 miles. Features include a wide, cement path good for walking, running, roller blading, biking, scootering, and more. There are a few benches scattered. Several dog waste bag bins with the small black plastic bags stocked. Please clean up after your dog. Larger trash cans. Shade trees. Other landscaping to compliment the natural desert terrain in Lea County. Grassy areas. I was disappointed that the water fountain was not in working order. I am always prepared with water for my dog, but I was curious to see if it was available. It was not on 3/17/2023. Just be careful because some people don't give pedestrians the right-of-way like they're supposed to. This town is not yet a pedestrian or bicycle-friendly community. There are parking lots in various areas near the NMJC. Enjoy!
