Hired Merry Maids to do a deep clean of a home we bought prior to moving in. Our new house is less…read morethan 2000 sq feet. Our home was empty except for several boxes in the middle of the main living room. We were quoted $135/hr, two workers, 4 hours to get the job done. Fair enough. They sent 3 workers and didn't notify us of a price change. We were working that day so we weren't able to be in the house to monitor their work. 4.5 hours into the service, they had only "completed" 5 rooms - the kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, Leaving the big basement, a staircase, a bathroom, a bedroom and the living/dining room. We asked them to stop at 5 hours because it wasn't within budget to have them keep going (~$600). After they left, we looked over the rooms they had "finished" and they were still dirty. The windowsills were disgusting (flies, dust, grime), the empty fridge was gross, the blinds were left untouched, the windows were gross, there were still crumbs and stains in the cabinets and the basement floor still had crap all over it. Called back and told the owner of the franchise it was unacceptable. She offered to send out people the next day (moving day) to "redo" everything. However, they only "cleaned" rooms they said they had cleaned to begin with, not the ones they missed. She sent 4 people the next day. 3 hours later we arrived with our first load to move in and there was absolutely no difference except for that the fridge was clean. They still weren't done and we had to wait around for 20 minutes to start moving. One guy started smoking out by the truck instead of helping to move the process along. We are 100% dissatisfied with their work. Our neighbor said they took several smoke breaks and the first crew even left the house the previous day before coming back to "finish." To top it all off, the owner ended up charging us for the third person she sent on the first day and she charged our card $950. I'm disgusted. Do yourself a favor and NEVER use this service.
