During the trial class, my daughter (2.5 years) was participating and connecting with the teacher within the first few minutes. By contrast, she didn't participate much at the other studio even after multiple classes. And it's because the teachers at the dance network are so compassionate and engaging. We have since told friends and family to join us at the dance network! When you walk into the studio it has such a calm, home-like vibe and it's just completely unpretentious, which is hard to find around here. So glad we found this place!

From The Independent we learned of the SB Dance Center's $7 dance lesson and practice party afterward and decided to give it a shot. The Center is spacious with a nice-sized lobby for chit-chat, and two generous ballrooms with good fans and nice art. Class was surprisingly well-attended for a rainy Saturday night and we were treated to a Charleston/Lindy Hop lesson. I've been Lindy Hopping since '98 (damn I'm old!) but I appreciated the refresher. Our fellow dancers were from a variety of backgrounds and ages, and all were kind and friendly, exactly the wholesome type you encounter at a swing dance. The instructors did a nice job incorporating the basics for all the beginners and even tossed in a couple of more advanced moves for those of us long-time lindy hoppers. We stayed after for the practice dance, and although it was initially weird getting asked to dance (and asking guys to dance again!) it was super fun and I know Chun P. wouldn't mind. Every Saturday night the Center offers a different type of dance lesson, and I'm looking forward to dropping by for a dance and seeing my new friends on my next trip!

A bit disorganized and hectic when we got to the concert. Lines all over. People buying popcorn and…read morenachos for the concert was a bit odd. Def different than other concert venues. Very old building with much needed repairs . Especially since historic..it has potential. Lighting was nice and the artist we went to see was great. We had fun , however weird set up. They show have a live stream of the artist on big screens, so that everyone can get a close up of the performance. Canned beers are over $8 and cheap bottled water over $5. Our concert ticket was over $80. Far from all the action on State Street , we walked over a mile to get to some sign of life. Pretty dead where Arlington is located:/
