We started going in September twice a week, and five months later we're still showing up--and the results have honestly surprised us. I'm noticeably stronger in my core and lower back, and both of our postures have improved. As someone focused on building strength and improving overall fitness, Pilates has been a powerful complement to my other workouts. It's strengthened muscles I didn't even realize I was neglecting and has helped me feel more balanced and supported in everything I do. Beverly is incredibly knowledgeable and intuitive. She seems to know exactly what our bodies need each session and thoughtfully blends classical Pilates with reformer, mat work, the Cadillac, and other equipment. Every class feels intentional and tailored. Pilates is hard--but in the best way. For the entire hour, Beverly cheers us on while also carefully correcting our form so we get the maximum benefit. She emphasizes precision and alignment, which makes such a difference. You leave feeling worked, lengthened, and stronger. We go in the mornings, and it has become our favorite way to start the day. Beverly's warm, happy energy turns the session into more than just a workout--it's a full mind-body reset. Her studio, located off Mission Street in a beautifully converted former church, is calm, light-filled, and welcoming. The vibe and lighting truly matter to me, and she has created something really special. And a huge bonus in Santa Barbara -- there's plenty of parking in her private lot, which makes getting to class completely stress-free. We truly can't recommend Beverly enough.

I found Beverly at her studio, Classical Pilates Studio on Mission St., and her instruction was outstanding. Her sessions made me feel noticeably more sturdy, balanced, and structurally sound. It wasn't just a workout, it felt like building real alignment, control, and stability that carries over into everything else I do. Beverly is precise, attentive, and clearly deeply knowledgeable; you can tell she's teaching true classical Pilates. And the facility and equipment is very clean and tidy. Highly recommend for anyone who is a beginner, trains seriously, and wants something that improves performance, durability, and longevity without unnecessary wear and tear.

Power of your Om! Thank you for making me and my stiff one dimensional workout body fall in love…read morewith Yoga , your lovely team and the powerful Power of Your OM yoga studio in Santa Barbara. Dear Adrienne, you are one of the nicest, coolest, most accommodating, solid ( and very flexible- yoga humor ok my attempt at) business owners I have met. You have this beautiful natural way of connecting with all and making this bum who resisted yoga his whole life a raving fan. You welcomed us both so warmly. It is not a surprise that 37 diehard fans showed up for your 6 am class on Wednesday October 8th. You found a way to make us all fit( photo) and ensured every one got a great workout. You remembered both our names a few minutes after meeting us and addressed us in the class. I loved your heart, your honesty and your spunk about how you and your husband moved to Santa Barbara 14 years ago. I loved the real, human and personal communication from the stellar Lindsey, the excellent Emily and the very nice David who really took the time to come by and relate to me as he suggested slight and actually very helpful shifts in my Warrior and Bhujangasan poses( yup my vocabulary increased beautifully). No one treated me like a newbie- they all wanted me to learn the fundamentals the right way. Loved it! LOVED IT!!!! The vibe in the studio be it at 8:15 pm or 6:00 am the next day was LOVE. Power to the Om and yes huge props and 5 stars for " Power of Your Om." Any one and everyone in Santa Barbara, you have got to go to this absolutely tremendous Yoga studio. Can't wait to be back.

I took a surge class at Power of Your Om and overall it was a very good class. Flow was about low to mid level, a little bit slower and more fluid than most C2 classes at Corepower. The main difference between Power of Your Om and Corepower is the heat. Corepower is hotter because of the increase in humidity and temperature while Power of Your Om uses dry heat. The space is on the small side and there is no dressing room or shower, but it makes up by being less pricey than Corepower.

Being overweight, I was more than a little insecure about how I looked, but I was also desperate to feel better--and fortunately, that got me in the door. Because once I started working out at Bodykind, I developed a whole new relationship with my body and experienced the kind of validation that comes with working out with a small group and a dedicated coach. When my budget permits, I indulge in a private session, which takes that feeling to an even higher level. Pilates changed the shape of my body like no other workout I've done and I'm no longer in pain. Perhaps more importantly, the love and expertise with which owner Jenn McCandless teaches is so empowering, I walk out of each class standing taller in every way. If you are even considering checking out Pilates, or looking for a new studio, look no further. Bodykind is wonderful.

I am here to express my love for Divintree Santa Barbara!…read more I was totally new to yoga (as of January 2020). I signed up at Divintree for two reasons: 1) I had been experiencing low back pain for over six months and a doctor told me, "If I could prescribe yoga, I would." Nothing I was doing was working so I figured, Why not? 2) They were having a weekend of free yoga classes then a reduced rate for unlimited classes membership (they often have promos). If I think back to those very first classes, I remember feeling very unsure of myself, as anyone might when trying something new. I felt awkward and thought maybe yoga wasn't for me. I might have given up if it weren't for the welcoming attitudes and incredibly knowledgable teachers of Divintree. Hilary, Nicole, Natalie, and Sierra are truly gifted. Sierra Noland's classes were especially helpful and motivational for beginners. Her attitude really made me want to stick with my yoga practice. When COVID-19 struck, I was SO GLAD I had Divintree's virtual classes available to me. While at home, I have been able to take live virtual classes on Zoom, OR watch any of the recorded classes later in their library. Life is even BETTER now that we can take outdoor, socially-distanced classes on the beautiful bluffs of Mesa Park, facing the ocean. Their studio (when it is open) is incredible, but I am really happy with the virtual and live-outdoor class options. Gotta take advantage of the fact we can practice outdoors most of the year in Santa Barbara! Who likes to hit the gym when they travel? Not me! However,…read morewe all know what's right, and for that reason I decided to pack my gear and hit the gym on my last business trip. I searched online and found Fit Body Boot Camp or FBBC as it's called. Other reviews convinced me to try it out, mainly because reviews for other gyms in the area were not so hot. I did their Online Package, where for only $29 I could get four (4) visits and access to some online downloads from the franchise mothership. The process was super easy! Took just a minute to complete the signup. Almost immediately I received the email confirmation. The online goodies didn't really excite me (wasn't really interested in reading a corporate rendition of fat burning ideas, audio report, and nutrition information; sorry, no offense.) ANYWAY... The $29 special allows you to take four sessions within 14 days. I could only hit two classes during the week I was traveling in the area and got my butt kicked, THOROUGHLY. I do Boot Camp style classes a few days per week back home and are all one hour classes. The FBBC classes are just 35 minutes but don't let that fool you. I was praying to crawl out of the door within 15 minutes. Don't let that scare you, that's a good thing! We were broken up into teams of two and four people, and pushed through different interval training. Ropes, bosu ball work, elastic strap work, dumbbell work, kettle bells, ropes, more! One thing that really left a positive impression on me was how the instructors would walk around and motivate, review your form, and help you correct any issues so you can get a better, safer work out. Totally impressed. One tip to the newbies: you are asked to wear clean, indoor-only shoes. That's a fair enough request because they don't want people wearing the same shoes that they ran along the beach with into there really awesome carpet-padded workout room. Any clean gym shoes will work, just don't be "that guy" who brings in a pair of cruddy, sandy shoes. If you're looking for a workout that's only 35 minutes where you will get intense cardio and muscular work, this is your place!
